Man, Dis, nice work yet again. Haller was quite good for the Habs in 1992-93. The rest of his career, which was decently long, was more average.
This is a big game for the boys and bigger still for Buffalo since they came into the season with higher expectations being placed on their shoulders. Some notable key guys on the Sabres are off to slow starts -- Thompson, Tuch, Levi.
Keumper kept the Newhook line off the scoresheet on Saturday night, but I thought he looked good with Anderson and Slafkovsky. I hope they stay together for a few games.

That PP looked about as good as one with Pearson and Gallagher on it should look. Yikes

Thank God we went with the #1 PP unit out there for the first 90 seconds again.
Suzuki with another give away kills the PP.
Then undisciplined bench minor for too many men
Running total through 4 games + almost a full period.
5 on 5 Habs 10 Bad guys 3
On PP Habs 2 Bad guys 2
On PK Habs 1 Bad guys 6
6 on 5 Habs 0 Bad guys 4
3 on 3 Habs 1 Bad guys 0
Shootout Habs 0 Bad guys 1
The 6 on 5 is driving me crazy but the PP is beyond awful. Not only is it 2-2 with the two shorties, they are creating no pressure, chances, shots on goal, etc. At some point the second unit needs to start one of these two PPs.
What would this look like with some special teams?

As usual, the Habs taking too many penalties. Otherwise, it was a low-event type first period. I think Buffalo is trying to focus on breaking some of their tendencies (i.e. bad habits) by emphasizing a defense-first mentality. Granato probably sees the success that Detroit and Ottawa are having and feels a little pressure to win at home tonight.
