Many in Quebec are not too thrilled that the provincial government is planning to spend up to $7 million to bring the Los Angeles Kings to Quebec City next season for two pre‑season matches. A bit of backstory, the ruling party, the CAQ, unexpectedly lost a recent by election in the Quebec City area. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/los-angeles-kings-quebec-city-1.7028228

How can the CAQ possibly justify this? It demonstrates their hypocrisy clearly. Out of province students have to pay heavily to attend school in Quebec but foreign sports teams get a fat government cheque.
They must think that snubbing the Habs still has political value.

The CAQ also promised $500 cheques to people just before the provinical election to help with the cost of Gas, Rent and inflation. Basically bribing people for votes.
