Well this wasn't the week that Caufield got 3 hat tricks ... but in 4 games he did manage to get one goal After 21 games, Caufield is now on pace to score 23 goals Another week has come and gone ... three games this week. Caufield netted 1 goal Now after 24 games, Caufield is on pace for 24 goals. Cole had a great sophmore year but I think this year is turning out to be a sophomore year for him so I won't worry this year but if this happens next year I will start to worry... Cole needs to be a consistent 30 to 40 goal guy |

Another week has come and gone ... three games this week. Caufield netted 1 goal Now after 24 games, Caufield is on pace for 24 goals. Your whipping boy, Skilly? Not at all. I love Caufield. But to anoint him as a perennial 40 goal scorer without ever having done it, is just dumbfounding. I am, however, reminded of one of my whipping boys, that this board continually referred to as “good for 40 goals” , and I watched as he never once came close to hitting that mark. Caufield is about 2 years away from threatening 40 goals. I’d be the happiest poster on this board if this post breaks the jinx and he goes on a tear. Caufield’s career GpG = 0.408 Caufield needs a GpG of 0.569 the rest of the season to get 40 this year |

Fair enough. He is carrying the puck more this year than last, so maybe MSL has him working on a few 'other things' which are taking away from the pure goal scoring, but will help him in the future. Sometimes, it's just luck involved. An example from a different game this past week is Boston''s win over TO. The game is going to a shootout with just a few seconds left and Nylander, who has been Leafs best players this season, has his legs taken out from under him by the invisible sniper in the crowd and Bruins get a two on zero and score. During Boston's wins this year, I've seen a lot of that, yet with us, a rebound of a shot goes to the other team rather to our wide open guy (Veleno example).
Hopefully, Cole will go on a streak soon and up those totals.
