Looks like Slafs is going to get a chance with Suze and Cole. Very excited.
On the other hand, rather perplexing is Marty is putting Evans on the wing with Monahan and Josh. I would. much rather see Ylo or Gally there. We now have hopefully a decent first line and 3 3rd lines.
Monty better be prepared to keep the puck out!

I guess St. Louis is rewarding Evans for his good play or maybe he is just grasping at straws.
Hopefully the first line gets to roll without the coach being antsy on the trigger finger. Though I could see the middle six guys, maybe also including the fourth line wingers, getting tossed into the blender.
Man, this is a game without a whole lot of anticipation because it is basically a Monday nighter between two bad teams who cannot light the lamp.
A Matheson-Gustav Lindstrom first pairing sounds scary.

Slaf on the top line…the good.
Evans on the second line…the bad (even borderline ugly).
Ylönen still banished on the fourth line…the cruel and unusual MSL punishment.

Great pass from Anderson to Monahan with a gaping net 1-0 good guys

Nice play by Struble to hold onto the puck a touch longer than Seattle expected, opening a huge hole for Ylonen, but the line goes offside. Earlier, Slaf held onto the puck in the Seattle zone before feeding Suzuki.
Anderson has turned into a playmaker.

How is that a penalty for goalie interference?

Slaf needs to be more selfish. He is always looking to pass first.

Have you guys noticed how often we turn a defensive 3 on 3 into a 3 on 4 because one of the forwards just doesn't back check hard enough and the other team has a wide open trailer? That bugs the hell out of me. Mostly it’s a lack of desire.

Pearson. Did not have him on my bingo card.
Take it. He needed to score.

Jeje, it is too bad Pearson is such a relatively hefty AAV ticket that he probably cannot be moved at the deadline even if he is healthy and playing okay this season. Hughes probably needs to save that last retention slot for Allen or Monahan.

Slaf looking like Le Gros Bill on that rush He is getting close to dominating in some respects. I jyst expect him to make the play. Not ‘hope’ he makes the play. Expect it. Another rung up the development ladder for sure. When the shot comes, yikes. We’ll have to apologize to Bobrov.

Slaf is impressing the hell out of me tonight It has been a good development year for him so far. He just needs to learn to process some of the puck management decisions at NHL speed next. It could be a hoot when he does…as he is still a darn teen!

The play along the boards in the Kraken end where his stick was tied up and he looked at Suze and kicked the puck to him... his awareness of his surroundings have really improved

For sure, the kid is looking strong out there. Hey, how about not overthinking things and just sticking with a trio with potential together?
I know coaches get caught up in the whole 'oh no, has this young buck earned this plum spot in the lineup and what will vet X, Y, Z think?' But let's call it like it is, Montreal is not sniffing the playoffs this season. More than any other winger on the roster or in the system, Slafkovsky has the attributes to best fit with Suzuki and Caufield. So how about focusing on player development and building a group ready to deliver in 2-3 years instead of succumbing to the mindset about blah blah this is not a development league and so or so will be sour about not getting to play with Suzuki.

Full control in their own end and they give it up. Sheesh. Make a good bloody pass.
