As I said in the Fla thread, i'm going with the over/under on Matheson crazy dangerous turnovers at 5. If you had the 'over' then you were in the money. Some of Maths' gaffs: 1) over the glass for a delay of game; 2) TB first goal on Maths as he decides to pinch when Savard has already pinched in and is caught in TB zone; 3) finally get PP down 3-2 in third and finally get possession in TB zone and Maths QBing PP coughs it up with no pressure; 4) finally get PP down 3-2 in third and finally get possession in TB zone and Maths QBing PP AGAIN coughs it up with no pressure; 5) unable to clear D zone, over and over again. While we need an elite scorer, or a couple of decent scorers, what we really need is someone to QB the PP.

Anyone else notice that during the time out to pull our goalie, Marty had the chalk board and Burrows was off to the side, almost outside the huddle. At one point Burrows spoke up and Marty just looked at him. This is a good sign for the long overdue change to end our pathetic PP, and the dumb drop back over and over again.

In case there was too much hopium, the Habs are now 7th from the bottom.
I would be actively looking to trade Savard, Matheson, Monahan (if he wont resign), Ghally, Armia and Dvorak as well as bring up X, Mailman and Roy.
Laval is losing too so not much of a learning enviroment.
There is razor slim to no chance in hell of making the playoffs so might as well finish on the bottom.

My hopium levels have had a significant increase with the recent losing streak. It is the tankium variant as I had no expectations this season beyond player development and a solid draft pick.

Just when you thought you’ve seen everything!?? What exactly are they reviewing here? Are they on the phone with Toronto to find a way to get out of giving Kova a goal? I was yelling at the screen watching the refs on the headphones. WTF!!! It's not complicated. You don't need to speak to Toronto. The four refs get together and each one indicates whether they blew their whistle. If the answer is "no", which was clearly the case, then good goal. There is nothing for TO to review! It's as if the refs were calling TO to ask "What do we do? Fans here are really mad." That aspect most definitely comes into it. Fan reaction, while not proven definitively, is likely the reason for home teams have that 'home ice advantage'. Refs, no matter how objective they try to be, can't help but be influenced by the crowd noise. Also....game management is always in place. Never let a team get too far ahead, unless it's the home team.

I got Hopium for at least Cayden Lindstrom, can play LW/C/RW dobberprospects.com/player/cayden-lindstrom/Massive, physical forward who doesn’t sacrifice skill or smarts. Quick and daring in transition, willing to disturb opponents and displays impressive character. Projects as a top-six power-forward center.

Never let a team get too far ahead, unless it's the home team. There's was an interesting study done a long time ago regarding home field advantage. Testosterone levels were measured for home and away teams (soccer if I remember correctly) and the researchers found statistically significant higher levels of testosterone for home teams. In the discussion the author theorized it as analogous to defending the castle where if you lost you lost everything so the stakes were higher. Conversely, the visiting marauders could always retreat and go home so produced less Testosterone. The higher testosterone levels of home teams were a remnant of having everything to lose. Of course that assumes Testosterone production was a heritable trait the was selected for. Regardless it was a cool paper and entertaining fodder for a bulletin board.

Is this why soccer players pee while sitting on the field... lol
