Gignac has been Laval’s best and most consistent player all year. He chips in key goals, is very fast, and works his tail off. Well deserved, although he likely does not move the bar a huge amount at the NHL level, at least he gives some depth while guys are injured. Being a centre does not hurt right now either.

I keep seeing Montembeault when I look at Gignac. Silly, huh? Both, when given a chance were 25-26 years old. Neither were considered much of a contributor at the time, but were fill-ins. Monty has turned out pretty well and we could use a really solid 4th line centre. Even though he's a couple of years older than I'd like, I have my fingers crossed. |
