Not to belabor the point, but what is Hughes/St. Louis thinking having a fourth line ghost like Pearson in the game and a edgy dude like Pezzetta scratched against these shetbags... I have to agree. MSL makes iffy lineup decisions sometimes. With D bags like Tkachuk and Cousins out there they need some grit out there I called it at the top of thev thread... expect the crap to start in the 3rd... MSL should have put pezz in this game and pearson against the bolts

For sure, and Xhekaj is a heavyweight beast so no weasel on Florida is going to drop with him. But Pezzetta is a wild man albeit in the lower weight class and some Panther d-bag could engage, though I would say the likeliest of that group to go with Pezzetta would be Lomberg or Bennett. Cousins and Tkachuk would probably not want to suffer the pain or embarrassment of getting tuned up.

What a weak call on CC... Montour does a dance and falls... what a joke

Absurd, it was not even really a dive per se, Montour just blew a wheel and then figured hey if I look up at one of these semi-pro refs, the arm could go up since they prefer us to win tonight.

Slafkovsky alone at the side of the net. He has to shoot.

If we had a second line we'd be a tough team to beat

It’s in the ref’s manual. Panthers are the ‘preferred’ team this year. Canadian teams with the exception of TO are numbers 27-32.

Going to OT. Coyotes lost in regulation so MTL will gain at least a point on them.

Evans with a really bad penalty - tripping someone in the neutral zone with a second or two left. When it's 4 on 4 makes it even more stupid as it creates a 4 on 3 PP. Dumb Dumb dumb

That was a great game! Boys played hard. It's clear that we have a legit top line. Our D ain't bad altho we do not have the stud - we'll have to wait for Hutson. But X, Guhle, and Maths are legit top 4.
The problem we have discussed and was on full display tonight is the middle 6 are just not up to the task. Gally is painful to watch as he is so slow and behind the play - half the player he was. Josh is Rene Bourque. Evans is a one dimensional player with no offence. And Armia just doesn't care. Roy's got a long way to go if he is going to be legit. The 4th line is hopeless. Can't believe Yole has played 100 games - completely belive he has only 11 goals. Given he can't play physical or defence, 11 goal won't cut it.
Hopefully Dach is the player we all hope and Newhook comes around. But HuGo needs to get a good player if we have any hope to make the playoffs next year. Got to trade some prospects and and picks and get a top 6.

What is that 10 shorties against this season, yikes. Was Matheson out there? Slafkovsky tried to make a cross ice pass from the right side red line, to the left side blue line and thread a needle. It was picked off pretty easily and pushed up to Reinhart who had Caufield back as the defense. He beat Caufield wide and cut to the net and roofed it over Monty, who was already on his knees for some reason. The shot was really accurate, under the bar, but Monty saves that all day if he squares himself to the shooter.

Did we really want them to win this and get 2 points, 1 point was bad enough

Prediction. Next season, Florida (the state) is going to experience floods, hurricanes, rising sea levels and other assorted climate change extreme events. This will create a constant concern in the heads of the Florida Panthers, worrying about their house, family, etc and will fracture their focus. What's a hockey game, when your loved ones are in danger? This lack of focus will lead to low PDO, injuries and a general malaise, not to mention regression from this season, which will cause them to miss the playoffs and finish in the bottom 10 of the league.
Calgary will just deteriorate as they rebuild and also finish bottom 10 in the league.
Calgary's pick will end up, after the lottery, 2nd overall and we will scoop it up. The Habs will have few injuries, their prospects will fit right in as expected and they will make the playoffs and win 2 rounds.
Book it.

If Calgary's pick is worse that 20th this year, we have the option of taking that pick. I wonder if Hughes approaches Calgary and tells them we will take this years selection (saving Calgary from any potential tank scenario concern where they lose their first rounder next year) if they trade us Jacob Markstrom

(Yes, I know the odds) No thanks. Don't need a goalie. We have Mutumbo. Don't want this year's Calgary pick either. I'm going all in.

Karnak the magnificent or the amazing kreskin I didn't know Karnak or Kreskin indulged in hallucinating substances but now that i think about it..... I'm using my optimistic prediction abilites to focus on this year's draft. I think we have a chance of picking first overall this year. We're likely to finish 5th worst which will give us a decent chance at the lottery. But I haven't ruled out finishing 4th worst and maybe even 3rd - Go Ducks and Jackets!
