Thanks for posting that.
Gotta love our prospect depth!!! The future is certainly bright. It's been a long haul but we're almost there.

it's funny, i'm a very impatient person normally, but for some reason i like our prospects so much these last couple of years that i'm just watching them slowly grow and some of them look like real gems that i'm willing to wait.
the only thing that bothers me is bob's trading record has never been stellar and some of these deals leave me shaking my head.

I'm the opposite. I'm normally quite patient, but I'm getting tired of waiting.

13 seasons...and counting. ![](http://www.arabiyat.com/forums/images/smilies/crying.gif) there there franko, i am starting to see why the guys who are mid 40's plus are getting cranky, you guys were spoiled with cups and now the candy has been taken away for a long time. just keep the faith guys, the prospects we've got are going to make us perrenial playoff contenders starting next season. this year we will get in the playoffs, barring koivu/markov injuries.

NEVER had we EVER had to wait more than 7 seasons between Cup Championships. Yep...we were indeed spoiled.

yep, i'm kinda glad i missed out, i was around in the 70's and loved guy lafleur but i have no recollection of any games i was born in '71. i did wear #10 in hockey though because of the flower. so from 1980, 2 cups in 27 years, ouch.
thankfully i also follow junior hockey and other sports so i've had other championships, but there is nothing like the habs hoisting the cup. the next one is going to be the best one because of the long wait and how we're not expecting it on a consistent basis anymore.
damn parity.

I was lucky H&C. I've been around for 12 cups, but I was to young for the first 2 (64-65 and 65-66). I slightly remember beating St. Louis 4-0 (Scotty's team) in '67-68. The Flower was my favourite player as well. I also like Jacques Lemaire and his BOOMING slapshot. I rememeber him starting a comeback, I believe it was from down 2-0 to Chicago in game 6 or 7 (the game in which the Pocket scored the tying and winner in the third period) with a slapshot from centre ice on Tony Esposito, Priceless.

for me there was nothing like '93, only because of the drama of game after game going into overtime and knowing the wall was in net. i had a poster of roy in the living room during games with THE WALL on top of it and i believe it had a brick wall behind patrick protecting the net, or something to that effect.
this board definetly reflects that there are a lot of guys in the 40+ range that are so used to winning a cup every 5 years or less through the 50's-70's. but the last two decades have been futile, mostly because of bad management, savard was good for awhile when he had some good pieces to use and deal, but he went downhill in a hurry late 90's and when roy was traded it was akin to trading ruth.
the curse of roy is now at 14 years.

Too funny, I remember my little brother had the same poster. It had a brick background and a Pink Floyd font saying "The Wall". Losing Roy was definitely the beginning of this decade and a half slide we are on. Now if only we had a superstar goalie in the system... ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)
