Anderson looked like he had a good look at the top of the circle and he just goes down easily without taking a shot. Finding new ways to be ineffective. Not that an injury makes his lack of hockey sense any different/worse, but the way Anderson is skating and just looking kind of rigid in general, I would say he has an abdominal strain. Montreal coaches/doctors have a track record of letting guys try to soldier through when the truth is the next man up may as well get the call. I have to admit, he used to fly around the ice but he looks slow and unstable... you might be right and IIRC he's had that before

If Anderson is hurt let him heal rather than struggling to produce & being ridiculed by people like us.

I saw Cogliano with the glove to his face and then a quick look around to see if the sell job worked.

Not generating much - only 3 shots on goal this period.

Never ever have I seen Droopy so energetic on the ice... what an asshole I don’t have any good thoughts for him. He screwed us 5 years, then goes where there’s no pressure and suddenly he’s Mr Scorer again. Where was that guy for 5 years? No thanks, no well wishing from me.

Meh, Drouin was mostly a floater during his six seasons with the Habs. But I never sensed that he did not care. Riding with his old friend and likely Hart winner MacKinnon, things turned around for him. If he is smart at this stage, he should prioritize staying put in a good environment while getting a pay raise though significantly less than what his point totals would suggest on the open market.

If we want to win, have to keep a close check on Lehky. He’s the dangerous guy in close games.
Course, we need a loss here. 4-3 would be nice with Slaf getting the goal with assists to Cole and Nick.

Arber creates space and time for his teammates. That’s hard to duplicate and is a reason he’s sure to be one of the core.

My ‘Score’ box score is showing Slaf as getting an assist on Suzuki’s goal. Did he touch that puck or just very cleverly block off the Avs player ? He ties Tremblay, he's got the Flyer game to beat it, then the Saturday game he turns 20 Edit: I was wrong, Slaf set the record... let's hope he scores more on Thursday

Wild start to the game. Hopefully Montembeault has his A game tonight because there is no team more dominating in March than Colorado. You called it!!

X is so effective during the play that I'm starting to not want him to fight as it is to the other team's advantage to get him off the ice for 5 minutes. He doesn't just hit, he punishes. rahter see him do it with his body than his fists.

Anothr clever play by the guy who is so smart and talented. Every game o lose count nof the numbe rof times he sets up Cole and Suze. I don't see any weaknesses. He will be a top 10 scorer in the league in a few years.

I'm not happy about the 2 points but I am happy for Les Boys. it's been a long tough season and they need some satisfaction - as do we.
Avs have a great first unit but after that i'm not that impressed. Second line is OK and bottom 6 seem pretty ordinary. And they don't seem to have a lot of toughness which they will need in the playoffs. And while Drouin may be playing well the last few weeks, I will be most surprised if he has any impact in the playoffs.

Does this happen at the league level or is it the local officials? This happened against Seattle - he was awarded an assist on thd Suzuki goal in that game as well. Really surprised to see them beat the Avs twice and in regulation.

I find myself very frustrated seeing Drouin do much of anything useful... even though he clearly has a different role there - he's a pure complementary piece taking advantage of having their big names attract all the checking attention from opposing teams.

Drouin in definitely the weak link on that line. He has one third of the points of McK and half the points of Rats. His plus minus shows equal deficiencies with a +7 compared to a +31 and a +15 respectively. and as i said, those numbers will widen once the playoffs start.

If Anderson is hurt let him heal rather than struggling to produce & being ridiculed by people like us. Considering a pylon would be just as effective, he may want to stay in the lineup to prove otherwise

If Anderson is hurt let him heal rather than struggling to produce & being ridiculed by people like us. I find that hard to believe. An injury might explain Anderson's lack of energy, but if he were truly hurting, he shouldn't be playing and another kid should be getting his time to develop. Ylonen for example. It's not as if that would make any difference to our standings. In fact, it might improve them. I don't think Anderson relishes the situation he's in. He's not on a winning team where his style of play might (and I mean that in an unlikely sense), might help them advance in the playoffs. No, he's on a developing team that won't be a contender for another 3 years, by which time his contract will be up, he'll be 33 years old, and perhaps out of the league. Basically, it's depressing and there's nothing he or the team can do about it unless he agrees to terminate his contract, which his agent would freak out at and which he can't afford. Nope. He's stuck and that's the reason he's mailing it in. If he is injured, I apologize. (Well, not really....even healthy he's not my guy)

It's another one of the Bergevin contract gifts. I'm trying real hard to find one that aged well (Price, Gallagher, Anderson, Alzner, Petry pt 2., Drouin, Hoffman); the lack of contract to (Markov, Radulov, Petry, Subban as RFA) www.capfriendly.com/staff/marc-bergevinedit: Filter on Free Agent signings. I never thought it was that bad getting players to sign here.
