He slashed Konecky from the bench
That likely going to be 5-10 games

Konecny can be greasy and irritating (ask Auston Matthews), but I am not sure what Guhle was thinking.
I foresee the suspension being on the short side of such a range because the player was not hurt and Guhle has no history of reckless play.

About right. League has to send message that when you're on the bench you cannot ever get involved with players on the ice. I don't really care about the game suspension as will help the tank. The bigger consequence is Guhle will now be a repeat offender next time the Committee has him before them.

I think Guhle got lucky here. Any length of suspension would have been valid here, depending on what kind of message the DOPeS wanted to send

Not sure what he was thinking, but the suspension was warranted (how often can we say that these days?). Like others, I expected a few more games.

I'm going to look at this from a different perspective. I concur that a 1 game suspension is fitting. Guhle deserved it. You don't do that, simple enough.
But (the inevitable but) considering factors apart from the suspendable rule itself, I find the reaction fitting. Konecny took a real run at Slafkovsky and then did his best, it seemed, to tie him up and possibly dump Slaf to the ice. If I'm Gordie Howe I wait till another time and an elbow finds its place on Konecny's face. Since those days are over, Guhle was sending a message that you don't eff around with our stars. Slaf is going to be a one of THE key guys on the team in the future and you can't let people take runs at him. Guhle will be coached on that and he won't suffer any more suspensions because of it, but I am fully behind the intent. This isn't quite waking up with a horse's head in your bed level of messaging, but the rationale is the same.

I'm ok with what guhle did... konecky should have gotten an embellishment penalty or a fine from Dopes

That wasn't a slash, that was pure love tap. Might as well used a sex toy.
I'm a huge fan of retaliation and it's sooo easy to do so in hockey. An accidental toothpick in a scrum, an erant accidental elbow, an accidental knee on knee in a scrum, stancions are there to be used.
With so many ways to be helpful, why get a dumb suspension for a love tap.
Ghule needs to do better, be better at retaliations....
