It's important to get that single point. It puts us 1 point further up the draft...

For sure, no major lamentations over the loss because no now Montreal will have to be three points better than Ottawa over the last two games in order to flip the placement in the standings.
I hated the lack of basic discipline and, of course, the avalanche of power play goals after many of us thought the boys had figured out the PK. But overall I actually liked the fight in the dog tonight, despite the fact that if a neutral observer had to pick who deserved the two points, I think the answer would be the Sens.

Taped the game snd just watching it now. I had a few strong impressions after the first period. I’m still shocked at how lacking in talent the team is. Any forward in today’s game not called Newhook or on the top line can apply for EI.
As s partial aside, Florian Xhekaj played his first AHL game tonight. Didn’t get any points but the Rocket won 5-1. One necessary tactic for next year is that someone on the Habs (probably a Xhekaj) needs to explain the facts of life to Ridley Grieg. Sure, he’s an aggravating guy but you need to send the message that if he does that flopping crap like he did on Suzuki, he may draw a penalty but it will cost him. We can't let ourselves be either intimidated or humiliated.

Not terribly disappointed in the point as it was nice to be competitive with half our lineup out and I don't think we jeopardize our lottery pick. For us to0 catch Sens, assming they lose their next 2, we have to take 3 of 4 points from Detroit. That ain't going to happen given Wings will be fighting hard for a playoff spot. Have some concerns about Yotes! We are fine if we lose both to the Wings - very doable, so we control our own destiny to get that 5 spot. But if we split with Wings then we got truoble as very likely Yotes don't win another, given they are Utah bound and probably feel like they've been kicked in the gut. (Anyone here, at anytime, thought about packing up and moving to Utah? ) Yotes are playing Flames and Edm which may help as Flames are a disaster and Edm is without McD and have given up on catching Vancouver. Also gotta hope Yotes rally, particularly in their last home game, not of the season but of forever. Common Yotes! Give the home fans, at least the ones that suppoerted you, a win!
