Two year term. That's interesting. All 22-23 year olds gets a two year ELC. 21 and under get the “usual” three year deal that we are used to seeing.

Someone on Twitter posted If only they had not traded Myšák away. They got picked right after each other, so the draft list will always live on!

Tuch? Is he really a player? Apparently he is about playing big. I'm not that impressed with his stats given he is a senior playing against kids mostly younger and smaller than him. Most good college players leave after their 2nd year, maybe third. Perhaps he's a late bloomer but given his stats in his final year, nothing has bloomed yet. Or is this about HuGo getting a comfort space for Lane? See Slafs and Mesar.

Could be but I'd rather have a guy like Tuch in the lineup... big body, uses it, goes to the net, hard along the boards rather than White, Pearson, RHP or Wideman

We all know how I feel about the NCAA, but Tuch had a strong start to the season (12 points in his first 10 games) and he had a strong finish (8 points in his last 9 games)

Looks like Lane was reposting content from a poor quality source rather than sharing inside information. I guess we'll wait and see how this pans out.
It's hard to know what to expect out of Tuch as a player. Basu and Godin, earlier this year, speculated that Tuch (much like Struble) might play a style of game that translates well to the NHL. I could see him taking a roster spot from Ylonen in the near future if he can keep up with NHL pace. How's his skating?

U can improve skating but desire and work ethic is something you're born with... very hard to teach... look at Armia, kostitsyn and even Kovalev, if those guys had half tge desire of a Pezzetta or bgal, they would have been beasts

I hope Tuch signs, having another big body winger in the mix is certainly positive and losing him for nothing is clearly negative. Overall, Hughes seems to have a great vibe with NCAA prospects (he played NCAA hockey himself and was Boston-based for most of his adult life), so one would imagine everything is on the rails and progressing.
I suppose the hang up is two versus three years on the ELC. I know the issue is not insignificant for organizations but in reality I would say it does not matter all that much in the big picture. Tuch is not a guy who is going to set the league on fire, so he would probably be the kind of guy where the second contract, if he even manages to prove he can play NHL hockey, will simply entail a relatively modest raise.

I don't mind Hutson's mistakes, he hasn't played with these guys all year and probably needs name tags on his teammates.
But it's sure nice to finally see a defenseman take that extra step to the side to get the puck on net
