The boys are playing with jump. It is easy to see they want this game to finish the season. The problem, however, a recurrent one, is that they relax with the lead and just fail to complete their assignments with reliability and simplicity in those situations. Is it a system problem? A mentality or confidence issue? Or just the case of depending on too many main pieces being young guys with less than five years in the league under their belt?
My son and I had a laugh at that Fischer dude being so demonstrative about getting called for a obvious rule book slashing on the hands call. I mean, come on, the Wings had not been called for a penalty in almost 100 minutes of play. Speaking of which, Seider is a little young to already have received a 'lifetime achievement stay out of jail card' from the Refs Association. But, man, he sure gets away with a lot of tripping and holding. I am not hating on this kid. I actually love his game. And I think Yzerman made a strategic blunder by not getting long-term deals done with him and Raymond last summer when extensions could have gotten ironed out and signed.

Suzuki, our best deeker, on a breakaway … shoots and is stopped. He has to take it to the net there and give the streaking Slafkovsky a chance to get there for any loose puck

Primeau has been the second best goalie in this game. He needs to dial in because Detroit will be coming and I would not be surprised if they get a sort meh penalty called in their favor.
Sprong should obviously be elated to score in a huge moment of the game, but the celly is total goof move.
