Well we went the whole season without losing in regulation when leading to start the third period. But we lost 4 in OT. Will it be 5

So we choke yet again in the final seconds but the point earned means we give up the 5th spot. What the actual..

Don't know what happened on the winning goal...score tied at 1, and it appeared to be shot into an empty net. Philly had to win in regulation and have Detroit lose to have any chance of making the playoffs. So they pulled their goalie with 3 minutes left to try to win in regulation when they score was 1-1

So with the loser point we drop to 6th pending the Coyotes game. Sooo stupid
I'm extra stressed because the last draft ranking I saw had the first 5 picks all forwards and the 2 Russian dmen that we don't need dropping to 6 and 7. Next we'll lose the draft lottery and drop to 9

Not bad, not bad Off on team points by 3 (5th year in a row got the points relatively right) 1 off on Caufield's goals And I had us finishing last and we did Self praise is better than none .. 🤪😝😝 I can see us finishing last or second last. I am reading a lot of posters and there are a lot of “ifs”. Way too many things have to go right just for us to fall in the 22nd - 26th overall slot. Everyone seems to be banking us finishing out of the bottom five on Caufield scoring 40. Im going to say it now, he will not get 40. I’m questioning if he will even get 30. I have him projected to get 29. Really hope I’m wrong. But on the plus, he should have more time with a better winger, so I have him with over 20 assists . I’m assuming Monahan is on this line. Defensively we are immature. That will cost us lots of games. Our goaltenders , one is a sieve and the other can’t handle the load if needed. 73 points . That’s the top end

Annoying pattern of losing leads. That is something to talk about internally in the front office and also discussed in exit interviews. But clearly Hughes needs to be read the 'progression' scenario with a touch of realism and be bold if opportunities present themselves.
Detroit's boys are golfing. So they can revel in moral victories or whatever they want to they do. Eight years without a playoff game is kind of tough to chew to on.
And Seider is not taking less than Sanderson on a long-term deal. In fact, I think he gets at least $1 million more per than Sanderson got. And Raymond is tough case for Yzerman to deal with because, sure, management can dig in and just bridge him. But if they want to lock him up then it going to be more than Caufield got. Perhaps Yzerman forgot that Michigan/Detroit has taxes and meh weather/lifestyle so thinking that he could roll out the Tampa strategic roster playbook may have been a miscalculation.

So with the loser point we drop to 6th pending the Coyotes game. Sooo stupid I'm extra stressed because the last draft ranking I saw had the first 5 picks all forwards and the 2 Russian dmen that we don't need dropping to 6 and 7. Next we'll lose the draft lottery and drop to 9 Some things to ponder, which you probably already know. Daft Rankings are highly variable. Some guys prefer skill, others size, others IQ, others skating, and so on. Teams needs come into the picks. Someone who badly needs a Dman, especially an RHD in a draft that's full of highly rated RHD's, will take the defenseman, not the forward. My guess is that at least 2 of the top 5 picks will be Dmen. San Jose needs a play driver from the back. They've got Eklund, Will Smith and Filip Bystedt down the middle. Do they really need yet another? They might go for Demidov, but it's more likely Buium, Parekh, or the Michigan State guy will interest them. Same for Chicago, who have Oliver Moore and Frank Nazar, not to mention that guy they picked this past year. Doesn't matter where he sets up, he drives play. Outside of Korchinski, though, there isn't a stud D in their pipeline. A lot of guys like we have in Struble, Mailloux, Engstrom etc. Columbus? Just drafted Fantilli and they have a couple of other centre prospects but not elite ones. On D, they have Jiricek and Mateychuk. Will either be a stud? or put up points like Parekh and Buium? It may even be that 3 of the top 5 are defensemen. Not to worry, we're getting Celebrini anyway.

It really is something that needs to be addressed. That and extending the CAP to the daily line-up. To finish up, suck eggs Detroit. We gave you two wins and you still couldn't make it.

Anyone as disappointed as me when Matheson came out on the first unit. And poor Lane, he gets 2nd unit pp duty and is dancing all over the place and when he's selecting who to pass to his options are Dvo, Armia, and Gally. He must have wished he was back with college mates

Lane and Logan are ppg players 😁 They sure look amazing yet play such different styles. Begs the question: are they that amazing, or are we so use to watching slugs on our blueline since MB jettisoned Markov and PK?
