Classic Cole from Game 5, 1993 Finals. He was only 59 at the time. Just a kid!
Starting at 5:06 of the clip. Tony Marinaro has used the audio in his show intro for years.
"And now...a 24th Stanley Cup banner will hang from the rafters of the famous Forum in Montreal! The Canadiens win the Stanley Cup!"

Bob Cole’s first game
April 24, 1969. He called Jean Beliveau’s only OT winner in his first game
I believe he once called Jean Beliveau his favourite player too

I think Claude Provost kept the puck in on the right wing boards near the blue line. Got it to Jean who roofed it glove side on Cheevers. I went nuts, of course.

What a fantastic career, and by all accounts an equally fantastic man. His legacy will certainly live on.
I think every Canadian has memories that he framed and helped us express.

The voice of Hockey for my generation....listened to him on the radio in the 70's calling Hab games through the week. He and Dick Irving fill my childhood memories when it comes to the Habs. RIP Bob, thank you for the memories.

His genuine excitement came through in his play-by-play, elevating the experience of the broadcast.
