The NHL is full of steroids, the NHL does test but its "random" and they will let the players know well ahead of time. Besides, most team Doctors will prescribe steroids to players to help speed up recovery, and as long as they are under a Doctors care they can take all the roids they want.
From what i'm told young players won't take them, however, they instead use things like HGH and newer drugs that are hard to test but have the same benefits of steroids without the crazy side effects. There are all kinds of companies out there disguising themselves as private fitness/performance gyms that the players use in the off season.

The first time i came across steroids was on the high school football team in...70s. And of course the coach scoffed at the use...wink wink. Not a chance in hell for me. Didn't smoke or drink, certainly wasn't going to use steroids. Why the hell do Canadian kids need steroids in high school? To get into free collages? On the other hand, i can see rampant use in hockey, in any sports, as it gets closer to the big money. One thing that amazes me is how some athletes get amazing seasons...just before they sign a long term contract. I think we're past the point of trying to control these substances. We may not like it but they are part and parcel of the money game.

His hair looks like the mop my mom used to use. Better than the Swiffer look? Wee bit inappropriate commenting on a black kids hair and calling it a mop no?

No. If it was Macklin Celebrini it would still look like a mop. Am I wrong? It was a comment on hair styles not anything else. I have no idea what his racial background is and don't care. Can he play hockey? The one thing I am very biased against is stupidity, whoops, two things, stupidity and greed. Both of these cross every background on earth and I dislike both, regardless of where they occur. BTW, don't read anything more into that last paragraph than exactly what it says. It's not directed at any one in particular, just a general commentary. Of course, a guy like the the 45th president seems to have both those qualities in spades.

Georges Laraque says he knew a lot of players, including some of the league's top performers, who used steroids while he was in the league. "I have to say here that tough guys weren't the only players using steroids in the NHL," Laraque wrote in "The Story of the NHL's Unlikeliest Tough Guy," published by Viking Canada. Link

If you can get stronger or faster than the next guy in hockey, you're going to up your income potential. You can't help but chuckle at the NHL doing 'random tests' but letting the players know ahead of time. That's so Bettman and Campbell. "Do what you want, just don't embarrass us".
