*Conditions: The pick will be the highest of the 3 4th round picks that NJD owns 'DAL, NJD, WPG'

I think he has the tools and potential, but needs experience and coaching.

Barron and Harris are no longer waiver exempt, so basically they have to be in Montreal unless Hughes plans to trade them.
The return for Kovacevic is modest, but he is like a 6/7 who will be a UFA at the end of the season. It could be that Hughes actually spoke to Kovacevic's agent about a one year extension. A guy like Kovacevic is probably looking for a Benoit (Leafs) type contract (3 years, $1.35 AAV).

Kovacevic wasn't valuable enough to keep all the way to the trade deadline. Meanwhile Rein and Mailman would be tryin to mug him and eat his lunch.

Low return, but this is more about opening up a lineup spot for a younger player to let them develop at the NHL level more.

Guhle - Matheson Savard - Reinbacher Mailloux - Hutson Who comes out for Barron and Harris?

I think Reinbacher and Hutson start the season in the AHL myself.

We paid nothing to obtain him and got something to create a roster spot. He was a good pick-up and a good temporary solution for us. I wish him the best and hope he carves out a niche in NJ. Excellent asset management by Hughes as usual.

Got him for nothing and gave us some toughness. But won't worry too much about him scoring against us when we play NJ

I'd be surprised if more than one of the rookies is in the starting line-up. My money is on Mailman. Both Lane and Rein will need time in Laval.

Hutson and Reinbacher will at least start the season in Laval unless their is a huge shake up coming. They need the time and they are waiver exempt Guhle Matheson Barron Savard Harris Mailloux
