Beat Rochester 3-2 in OT. Looks like Lappy wants to get back to Montreal - he picked up 2 goals and 1 assist, including the game-winning goal 39 seconds into OT and was the first star.

That's how you respond to being the last cut, you go out and play with some fire in your belly.
Halak gets the win, OB gets an assist, D'Agostini gets a goal and Sergei Kostitsyn gets his first pro point in his first pro game with a helper on Lappy's OT winner.

Not to mention that O'Byrne was +3 as well. So let's see here.....Lapierre and O'Byrne, both cut because they (ahem) are waivable, start on fire, while some guys who have only a pretty face, are still playing in Montreal. In a manner of speaking anyway. I'd rather suffer with young players, who give it a great effort. Sigh. stats.theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1003526

Go Dogs Go! (my favorite book when I was a kid)...
I agree 17, are Kostopolous and Dandenault such an upgrade over Lappy and O'Byrne? Let 'em play!

I'm sure they will, I'm just disappointed they didn't start the year with the big club. I understand that waiver rules often dictate a different strategy than you'd prefer, but it certainaly appeared that O'Byrne at least had played well enough to make it, but the Breezer signing scotched that. If we're the same club 20 games in, I'll be more disappointed.

Good for Hamilton but Lapierre has no business roting in the AHL and he's only there because of an unfavorable bias from management. Whether he scores a trillion goals won't change anything IMO. Gainey will give every opportunities to HIS boys to make it before and if he ever falls back on Lapierre. I hope another NHL team notices him and acquires him to give him a true opportunity. The sooner the better for Mad Max.

but the Breezer signing scotched that. If we're the same club 20 games in, I'll be more disappointed. I dont think the Breezer had anything to do with it ... he couldn't be evaluated in camp because he was injured. But we could evaluate Dandy and Bouillon. Both of them sucked in pre-season and training camp. Dandy was so bad that they wont let him play defense (and coincidentally, not only takes O'Byrne's spot, but also used instead of Lappy or Chippy!!??). I can agree (to some degree, but dont agree with it all the time) that Bouillon should be given an opportunity because he has "potential" (which hasnt been shown in over 2 years now) and can play the physical game ... but Dandy??? He brings nothing to the table that we can't get in Breezer, Lappy or Chippy ... he is the reason (and his contract) these kids arent there.

... he is the reason (and his contract) these kids arent there. Yes and no. You don't sign Brisebois, Kostopoulos and Smolinski and you can play all of Lapierre, Chipchura, and O'Byrne.... The reson these kids are not here is not Dandeneault, it's Gainey.

Go Dogs Go! (my favorite book when I was a kid)... A classic! P.D. Eastman is often confused with Dr. Seuss, but the two are actually two different people. A writer, illustrator, and film producer, Eastman was born in Amherst, Massachusetts where he also went to college. He worked with such powerhouses as Warner Brothers and Disney, creating the series Gerald McBoing Boing. Eastman wrote several children's books, the most popular one being published in 1960, Are You My Mother. He also collaborated with Dr. Seuss on The Cat in the Hat Dictionary.

i liked the smoke signing and still do, the guy is a pro, when he's on the ice just watch him, he makes so many little plays and they're all smart. someone for chips to learn from for sure.
as far as our d goes, apparently they're trying to make room for gorges/o'byrne on the blue line. look for dandy or bou bou to be packing their bags soon.

This would be too good to be true. I think at this point Boullion would be missed the least. At least Dandy does have some size and he's willing to use it.

Funny funny Ryder. Skate, skate, skate. Shoot, shoot, shoot! Dat's all. Go, Hab's Go! It's a simple game. ;D

At various points over the last month Eklund (for what its worth) has been reporting that Tampa Bay, Vancouver, and San Jose have been interested in Dandenault or "a Montreal defenseman".

I remember last year there was talk of a western team's GM thinking highly of Boullion. I can't remember which team it was.

If the HABS wanted to dump Bouillon they have to know that one phone call to Pittsburgh would get it done.
