Looks like another coaching vacancy exists with Burrows stepping back to spend more time with family. Not to be cruel, but this could be a real opportunity for Hugo and MSL to do an addition by subtraction if they bring in the right guy like many of us have been hoping for. Three key vacancies now:
Habs assistant (Burrows) Laval head (Houle) Laval defensive coach assistant (Buchberger)

Best news of the day! Nice guy but not much of a coach. Let's see if we can't get the PP going now. And it wouldn't be a Habsrus thread on coaching vacanciess without a chant of "Larry! Larry! Larry!"

Burrows moves to a new role. Korpikoski will be based in Europe. Good move.

So the guy that had 5 years to figure out how to run a PP and couldn’t , is now going to be involved in developing our players 🧐🤔 ?

Burrows and about 25 other people. "Player development" is a euphemism for "employee". Burrows is a good guy and a hometown boy. They've given him a soft landing.

Daniel Jacobs is back as assistant coach with Laval. He was pretty good under Bouchard when he was there first go around. He also had some Team Canada U18 assistant experience too. He followed Bouchard around with two teams after Bouchard left Laval. Weird that they fill the assistant job before announcing the new head coach.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. I am a bit surprised he took this job after getting his NHL taste. He has loads of experience although there are questions about how he handled prospects in Columbus. Anyway, he had some decent runs with the Moose with lots of young players. A big upgrade on Houle IMO.

I'm good with it. We got someone at the ready if needed. He 's certainly got experince ay all levels by working his way up the ladder - and yes coaching Laval is a step above CBJ as far as scrutiny goes. I don't think he really got a fair chance in Columbus as he was thrust into a situation which had all sorts of problems. He may have some insight on Laine.

Very few coaches make the successful jump to the NHL. I'm embarrassed to admit I have something in common with Lou Lamoriello, that we both believe a team should hire a second time coach. In other words, hire one who has been in the NHL and fired once. Many, many coaches get fired for making what we often refer to as rookie mistakes. They're not because these guys have been coaching for years so they're not what I would class as rookies, but dealing with NHL players who have made the grade and the coaches having one less tool to hang over the player's heads, requires a different skill. Guys like Cooper and Trotz had those inter personal skills needed to connect with mature NHL players. Other coaches don't, but they learn that lesson the first time around.
Vincent was a successful coach in the AHL in the Jets system. He may learn a lot from watching and being 'around' Marty, who has those inter personal skills that players relate to. Vincent seems to have the other skills a coach should have, so this could be a good hire. I don't think there are plans for Vincent to supplant MSL so I expect after a couple of years, Pascal will be ready for another NHL job.
This is another checkmark off HuGo's list for the summer. Guhle may or may not be extended, but Xhekaj needs a new contract right away as does Barron, I believe. More work ahead.

Cowan’s article includes some quotes from Vincent’s presser today with the media. It sounds like he gets the message, so let’s see if he can deliver.

I see Vincent in Laval as good news for the organization. He had success with the Moose. And I would not hold one year in Columbus against him. That is dysfunctional organization with the Babock mess, a shoddy roster with no identity, and basically a GM who was a dead man walking.
