Thanks for the thread, WD. Great to see the guys. Time marches on...
Here's some prime-time...
A Lafleur hat-trick vs. the Blues, 1977 playoffs. Great save by Dryden on Nyrop's giveaway to Berenson. Habs swept the Round 2 series...outscoring them 19-4.

This is the team that ruined me as a fan ... six Cups in the 70s ... there have been some dominant teams in the NHL since ... the '80s Islanders, and the '80s Oilers, but the 1976-77 edition of the Habs was the best team I've seen in my time ... Cheers.

Me too Dis. I was actually too young to see the 56-60 Habs teams, so my memories are of the 60's and 70's. The 7-5 victory over the Bruins in Game 2 of the 1971 playoffs was my favourite game of that era. The 1969 series against Boston was another highlight. Le Gros Bill carrying us over the hated Big Bad Bruins.
I'm looking forward to another dynasty.

I have hardly any Habs memories since the 9s . . . any victory over the Bruins is a solid highlight! my first childhood jersey: #4 (everyone was wearing #4 by then; the Rocket had retired a few years before). THIS!!!

Not sure what my favourite game was back then ... if the 1975 New Year's Eve game against the Russians remains the best game I've seen ... my fave Habs NHL game would have to be May 10, 1979 ... Mario Tremblay centres the puck to Ivon Lambert, who was driving the net (Hockey 101) for the series-winning goal ... have to admit, I also liked Game 5 of the '86 Cup final vs Calgary ... Mrs. Dis and I moved to Germany a few days after the Habs won that game, and the Cup ... great triggers ...
Cheers.
