Three mistakes by X in the pk. Worse one was an easy clear that he panicked on. Lots of work to do to get him to the next step.

X is playing with Hutson.
Message? Touch him and you die.

Tough sequence for Engström there. Yeah. It’s a learning experience as to how much faster you have to move the puck in the Nhl than the SEL.

X is playing with Hutson. Message? Touch him and you die. Arber had a quote before the game that he has to be a defensive type because of the other offensive dmen on the team. He should just be himself a create space and time for himself by injecting fear.

Dvorak with the goal scorer's goal to tie it up.
Unfortunately, the general issues in the game tonight continued to rear their head -- Toronto cleaning up on the faceoffs; Toronto with more talent suited up tonight and thus way more offensive creation.
Dobes was immense. Maybe the boys can pick it up in the third and get him off the hook as the goalie slated to take the L.

So surprised to hear that Nick Kypreos and the rest of Sportsnet Toronto doesn't think this is a playoff team

It’s probably just the overall talent level and inexperience, but there’s not enough structure in their own zone. Way too much space and time for the Leafs. Often, they’re walking in on goal because there’s no Hab where they should be. I still worry that may be Marty’s serious shortcoming. He’s great at freeing up the talent in a guy. Can he instill the needed discipline?

2-1 Roaches. Six minutes left.
Example there like Markov used to do. Hutson flips the puck backhanded but no one there. Hutson’s faux pas or did no one else read a potential break?

Other then Dobis, not much to crow about.
Kaps played ok but not to the point of forcing himself on the line-up.
Hutson needs people to convert.
I'm not sure this game showed off enough from any of the hopefulls to make a difference.

Barron is still the same player. Not particularly smart or physical, not really good defensively or offensively.I'd prefer we ship him for futures before the start of the season and give Mailloux the last rd position

I'm sure TO will return Mtl fans the favour and dress their AHL line-up. Having said that, I suspect we will win by more than 2-1 unless leafs goalie pulls a Dobes. Wonder if they dress Patches. He could look up at the rafters and see the many Habs captains honoured and realize what a failure he was.

And what about Pare? Other than the beatdown by Xhekaj he skates away scot free in order to continue his dismal minor league career.
I calculate that fine to be about $100.00 for every punch Xhekaj threw.😀

NHL making stupid decisions, to justify more stupid decisions. In their greedy zeal for $$ they allow way too many preseason games and because of that, they have to reduce the number of real NHL players required and because of that you get useless players who have no business being in that game and are grossly underqualified. Because of that...injuries happen to better players (because everyone is better than THAT guy). It doesn't matter if he meant to or not. He had no business even being in that game. It usually boils down to greed. I don't mind watching a preseason game because I'm interested in the prospects. If there are no prospects, I'm not watching, but that's on TV. There is no way in hell I'm actually paying money to see a preseason game. If we wanted to reduce the number of preseason games, it's bloody easy. Don't go!
