Arber plays against the 3rd and 4th line. Matheson and Savard play the opponents top players Perhaps analytics aren't all that reliable. If you reverse the order it would be more in line with what common sense tells us are the best dmen on the Habs - with the exception of Savard. But maybe David the Savior ain't so bad.

Those are possession stats, which have some bearing, but don't account for finishing, or for quality of teammates or quality of competition. As mentioned above, Matheson and Guhle would be facing the other team's best, but numbers in the 30's are just plain bad, period.
I don't think Matheson has had a particularly good start to the season. Xhekaj hasn't either. Guhle and Matheson are also out, often, with the top line and since those guys have been unimpressive and not very helpful defensively, the possession numbers would be hurt further.
Without having knowledge, if Struble has been kept out beyond his injury requirement, I would find that very odd. He was head and shoulders the best dman in preseason action.

I love stats...because I abuse them all the time.
I NEVER look at advance stats to define a game, I look at them to confirm my observations.
