According to Eric Engels, Matheson is nursing an upper body injury... then why the F is he playing?

Matheson and Guhle were making bantam bloopers in the Monday matinee. So if Matheson is actually injured, then he should take off the next couple of games.
The grandfather (big Habs fan from Kitchener) of one of my son's hockey buds told me yesterday before practice that Montreal has lost 15 of the last 16 games against the Wild. It is surprising but maybe not. Minnesota may be the land of 10,000 lakes but the Wild is the antithesis of pond hockey. Their roster is not oozing with talent. But they play hard, structured hockey in all three zones.
If the boys want to cheat and free skate around looking for cookies, then Minnesota is going to pound them for sixty minutes and kick them to the curb at the final whistle.

I can confidently say that we will keep the goal differential to less then a converted touchdown.
They have two regular season losses in 15 games so I give our chances as two steps left of a chance in hell.
SmartyMarty should take notes...or quit, go work for the wild a couple of decades to learn how to run a hockey team and systems. If he had this record in the Wild organization, he would be given a donut and a skate board and pushed out the door...

After losing to Chicago, I imagine they got an ear full and are going to come out hard.

Watching the Sick Podcast this morning, they were reminding everyone that we are in year 3 of a 5 year rebuild. Don't panic if the Habs are still struggling.....better now than a couple years down the road. Habs management are just waiting for some contracts to expire before they are ready to compete. They are just laying the foundation for them to be competitive for the next 10 years.
I'm just hoping that we can improve from last year...both in standings and player development.

No one's hoping for a Cup this year - just some progression. And we are getting regression. They are playing like they don't need to care or try until the 5th year and suddenly everything will be rosy. It don't work that way. Sure we'll be a much stronger team without the QuadSquad, and a lot more cap space, but I want to see drive, awareness and not liking to lose now.

Talk about an easy stretch in the schedule: Wild just played Sharks, Ducks, and Hawks, and now they play Habs. That should be an 8 easy points. Wild have 5 out of 6 so far. Let's hope it stays at 5 but i ain't laying any money down.

In other news, i almost remember what i ate for dinner last night! That is a huge pile of player memories. Other then PK, easily forgotten. The days of sprinkling of all stars in those memories are looong gone.

As much as we want to dump on Maths for his poor passing and decision making on the PP (and elsewhere in his game), this is all on Marty. Any 5 year old can see Lane was made for the PP. He has the same number of points as Maths (10) and has 4 PP points to Maths 6. BUT Maths is playing with our studs and Lane has duds on his PP. AND Maths PP unit is out there for well over minute each PP.
And from my own personal perspective, when Habs get a PP I'm much more interested in watching Lane than our first unit boredom.

I agree with Dale Weise when he said that, in his opinion, the 2014 edition of the team was dismantled far too early ... Subban was a big part of that and, I was disappointed when he retired because I thought he had more hockey in him ... Cheers.

In Subban's case weren't there lingering back issues?

I count that as the worst trade Bergevin ever made and that includes the Drouin deal. I respect Shea Weber but I have a hard time seeing him as a Hab. PK was born to wear the sweater. Narcissists (you know who I mean) are such a$$holes.

To watch or not to watch live...that is the 5 buck question!
I don't expect a win so what am i suppose to watch and celebrate? How the wild trap us in our zone? More givaways then Santa?
Anywho...like every dumb fan since Gladiator GoreRus just mindlessly cheers and gulps hope...

Dvo is as dumb as wood... lane steals the puck, brings it across the nlueline, passes it to dvo, the d man goes toward dvo, Lane sneaks over to the side has a cleat line to the net and dvo sends it the other way... can't wait until that black hole is gone

Minnesota is a patient, grinding team. It does not matter to them whether the home fans are fully entertained or not, they do not deviate from the system. So Montreal played a good period in the sense that they did not cheat and fly the d-zone or over commit pinching in the o-zone.
It is not exciting to watch, but understanding the task at hand is a sign of maturity and God knows there have been many games in the first quarter of this season where the boys just went for a skate.

But to be paying Dvo millions when he provides nothing to the team is hard to take. HuGo can wait until the TDL but they ain't getting a 2nd rounder and that's if they're lucky.
