Checked into the Bulldog's site to see how Price was doing since he was sent down. I was a little, err, disconcerted.
9 games 3.00 GAA .885 Save %
Danis by comparison
19 games 2.87 GAA .910 Save %
Halak
19 games 2.36 GAA .922 Save %
I hope this is just Price getting the rust off his game. BG must be keeping a close eye on this in deciding what to do with Huet/Halak. Only 3 1/2 weeks to the trade deadline.
Wouldn't it be ironic if Halak turned out to be the keeper? Just thinking out loud.
Anyway, I wouldn't be too keen on seeing Halak traded just yet.

check out roberto luongo's stats the last 15 games. don't worry about carey, he's working out some kinks, i've seen him go through streaks in the whl of mediocre hockey. but when the chips are down, playoffs, world junior, ahl playoffs he raises it to another level.

To provide an example....would it have been wise to trade Komi at any time during the previous 2 years? You probably read HA's huge concerns about him and how many poor decisions he made in Hamilton and then his first year with the big club. Lots of flaws. One thing you never, ever do and that is trade a young defenseman or young goalie too early. You have to give them time. What's happenign to price is perfectly natural. A year of continuing highs has to be followed by a time of re-grouping and reminding of the basics and what got you to that point in the first place. If he's playing like this 2 years from now, I'd be worried. Right now...nah.

He and the Dogs just completed a sweep of the second place Manitoba Moose in their barn this weekend. He gave up only one goal in two games, one OT, and a shootout. The announcers mentioned he looked way more solid and confident this weekend, so the kid is getting his groove thang back.
Edit: This was Carey's first regular season AHL shutout and he earned the first star tonight.
