My understanding is that The Hockey News polls 21 NHL "talent evaluators" to get these lists.
The Habs organization is ranked 7th in the league for 21 years and younger talent, and were given an "A-" grade....this grade actually ties us for 3rd overall, behind Pittsburgh's A+ and Chicago's A.
Habs prospects Kyle Chipchura, Sergei Kostitsyn and Guillaume Latendresse were considered graduated and not on these lists. I would expect that Halak and O'Byrne were also considered graduated.
Among the top 70 prospects overall, the Habs have 4:
#1 Carey Price
#31 Ryan McDonaugh
#37 Max Pacioretty
#69 PK Subban
Habs top 10 is as follows:
1) Price
2) McDonaugh
3) Pacioretty
4) Subban
5) David Fischer
6) Alexei Yemelin
7) Yannick Weber
8) Ben Maxwell
9) Ryan White
10) Mikhail Grabovski
