All the CHL kids in the playoffs start off with 2 point games. Maxwell, Weber, 2 goals each. Subban 1 goal, 1 assist (twice) and White 1 goal, 1 assist. Cepek and Fortier are out of the post season I assume. Crappy year for Fortier, he was far less effective this year than last.

CHLers still with hot hands. Weber, 2 goals for second game in a row, 5 points in 2 games. Subban, 1 assist, 5 points in 3 games. Maxwell, 1 goal, 1 assist, to give him 4 points in 2 games. Fortier shut out.

P.K. Subban with a huge OT goal for Belleville. Bulls up 3-1 against Petes.
Webber pointless in Kitchener's win. Rangers up 3-0.

Belleville takes care of Peterborough in 5 tonight in a big 7-1 win. P.K. Subban with another 2 assists. 8 points in 5 games. Not too shabby by any standards.

If Belleville wins the East and Kitchener the West, then both get in since KW is hosting. It would be great to see both OHL offensive defender prospects going head to head in May.

Fortier with no points, but Rimouski wins 2-1 in OT to take a 2-1 lead.
Maxwell with no points but Kootenay win 2-1 to go up 3-0.
White with one assist as the Hitmen responded in Moose Jaw with a big 8-3 after a surprising loss on Sunday at home. They are now up 2-1 in their series.

Whitey no points, but his team wins and go up 3-1.
Maxwell with a goal, but the Ice lose and are still up 3-1.
Weber with an assist and his team sweeps in 4 straight.

Rimouski won their first round series 4-1, but Fortier is injured (not sure how serious) and he missed the last two games.

Whitey scored the winning goal and game clinching goal in a 4-2 win last night in Moose Jaw to help the Hitmen clinch the series 4-2 and move on to round two against Speedy Creek. Apparently he told his teammates he would score one before the game (according to the article on Sportsnet). Very Messier-like!!
Shaw TV will cover one series this next round, they picked up Vancouver-Chilliwack in the first round. Hopefully they cover one of the two featuring our prospects.
If Kootenay and Calgary win this next round, they will meet head to head in the Eastern final (the league semis). That might be worth a trip down the road to the Saddledome.

Start of the second round in the O, and Subban picks up where he left off against Peterborough with another goal in Belleville's 7-2 win. A 62 shot effort.

Another goal by Subban tonight, in another win by Belleville. That makes 5 goals, 10 points, in 7 games. A showdown with Oshawa and John Tavares is looming.

Belleville sure is on a tear right now. Barrie upset 2nd seed in their last round, but it does not look so promising this round as they are up against a really good Bulls team.

For those with Shaw Cable, Shaw TV is picking up the whole Calgary-Swift Current series starting this Friday (tomorrow) in Speedy Creek. I guess there is conflict with the Flames so the series starts with two on the road, but then comes back to Calgary for three.

PK Subban with another goal last night, the game winner, to finish off Barrie, 6 goals and 12 points in 9 games.
Yannick Webber with two assists, 4 goals and 8 points in 7 games.
Both of these d-man having good playoffs.

Two more series involving our prospects end tonight. Fortier is still injured and how gets the summer to recoup as Rouyn-Noranda swept Rimouski.
Weber was held pointless, but no matter, Kitchener moves on and sweeps their series.
Both Belleville and Kitchener now into their separate OHL semis.

Next round of matchups for our CHL kids start this Wednesday.
Ryan White and the Hitmen host Lethbridge.
Yanick Weber and the Rangers host SSM.
PK Subban and the Bulls lock horns with Tavares and the Oshawa Generals.
And then there were three...

Subban had two assists and the Bulls won 5-2 tonight to take a 3-0 series lead against Oshawa. Tavares who?
Habs picked this young Habs fan in the second round, way ahead of any mock draft or major publication's ranking. Since then he has earned a very surprising seventh D spot on the WJC Team Canada as an 18 year old (always a serious grooming audition for next season) and become the OHL's top scoring Dman in the playoffs, when the going gets tough (although his team is tearing up the playoffs so far).
I always appreciate our team scouting when we see prospects sky rocket after their drafting. Hope he can keep it up, because the kid is quite the card in front of the mike as well.

Weber with two assists as Kitchener win big 7-3 to go up 3-1 on the road.
Subban held pointless as Oshawa finally cracks the goose egg with a 2-1 win, Belleville now up 3-1 as well.
Both can clinch at home next game. If they do, both teams go to the Memorial Cup as they will meet in the OHL finals!!

The revolving door that has been the Calgary Hitmen's goalie situation in these playoffs continue, as they got shelled 6-0 tonight in the windy city of Lethbridge. The Canes now lead 3-0 and can wrap things up tomorrow night.
Calgary's big achilles heel this playoff has been goaltending, as they are a solid team all around but have been giving up lots of bad goals that totally deflate a team.
Ryan White's CHL career is pretty close to being a wrap. Let's hope they can win the next one and make a bit of a series out of this puppy.

Just to add to the Red head.
Weber with two helpers in a 5-0 win over SSM.
Most importantly, we now have a Belleville-Kitchener OHL final and both teams now make the Memorial Cup final.
Weber and Subban make the show. We can all watch them on Sportsnet.
Great for those guys, and they are both big parts of their team winning.

Our chances for a 3rd prospect at the MemCup are diminishing. Calgary is down 3-0 to Lethbridge.

The battle for OHL bragging rights is now 1-0 Rangers after they beat Belleville last night in game one. Subban had one goal in a 5-2 loss. Weber had no points in the win.
This series will get a little national airtime on Sunday. Game three will be on the full Sportsnet network starting at 5:00 pm ET and 3:00 MT. A little hockey teaser before our Habs take the ice at 7:00 pm ET!!!

Another 5-2 win for KW tonight. Subban and Weber each with an assist. 2-0 for the Rangers.
Next game on Sunday is on Sportsnet in between the Team Canada game on TSN and the Habs on CBC/RDS. Good thing Mothers' Day is not until next Sunday!!

Belleville finally breaks the goose egg tonight, winning 5-4 in OT after being down 3-1 early in the game. Rangers lead the OHL finals 3-1.
Subban with a big blast for a goal and an assist on the GWG in OT. Weber with two more assists. This is all a big warmup for the Memorial Cup, so they will really not like each other by that point.
Weber does look a lot like Streit on the point during the PP. He is fairly mobile and they often fall into the 1-3-1 formation to try and break Belleville's diamond PK, leaving Weber on the point. Decent vision and skating ability from back there on the PP. Subban has wheels and a good hard shot. Both are offensive dmen and it will be fun to see them on TV during the Memorial Cup doing this all over again.
Game five is on Thursday. Memorial Cup starts on the 16th I believe, from the Aud in Kitchener. Sportsnet will be showing the games.

The Rangers secure the OHL championship tonight with a 4-1 win over Belleville. I didn't watch the game, but some are saying that it wasn't great and Kitchener got some pretty lucky calls/bounces to get ahead.
