HOLY SH*T!!!
MORE NOLAN: A league source attending Monday night's game here said the Sharks offered right wing Owen Nolan to as many as three teams recently.
"They didn't even want anything back," said the source, alluding to San Jose's possible motive of severing what would be three more years at an average of $6.5 million in salary owed to Nolan
They just want to get rid of his salary. A SALARY DUMP. MONTREAL EXPOS STYLE.
Here is an idea....the whole population of Montreal area gives AS 6$ each...we can pay Owen Nolan for the next 3 years! ;D
Damn it AS...GET THIS GUY!! Especially if this is really true...

The giving players away for free is something Pat Quinn does. San Jose has never given away a player free since Dean Lombardi was GM. I wouldn't pay too much attention to that "source." You know how those "source" rumours go. Most of them are just that. Rumours and nothing more than Rumours.
San Jose would be pretty dumb to get rid of Nolan right now with the way he is scoring. I'm losing track of the goals, but it's something like 8 or 9 goals (2 goals Thursday night and 2 goals just a few nights ago) and 1 Assist in the last 6 or 7 games. They might get rid of Nolan eventually, but they will want something in return for him even if it's just future considerations.
I would rather they dump Ron Wilson, especially after Thursday night, than to see the Sharks get rid of Nolan (and I'm not even a Nolan fan).

yeah Nolan has been on fire recently...maybe hearing his name in trade rumors lit a fire under his butt? Ron Wilson? yeah I agree mediocre coach.. I'm sure that's what got Nolan on his hot streak. With his wife being a (San Jose) local girl, and them married only last summer, I'm sure she gave him h--l and told him to get his butt in gear so he wouldn't be traded to a "cold" climate. Yeah, Ron Wilson sucks. Last week when the Ducks were in San Jose playing the Sharks, three times during the game, twice during Period 3, Giguere fell down as if he was hurt so he could delay the game. One of the times in Period 3 when Giguere pulled his little act, the Ducks and Sharks players weren't any where near Giguere. They were all down at the Sharks Net. Wilson did nothing!! He just stood there and let Giguere and the Ducks delay the game. If that had been Darryl Sutter behind the Sharks Bench, Darryl would have been hopping mad and calling the Ref. We started yelling at Wilson after the 3rd time Giguere pulled his little act. We were yelling at him asking why he wasn't doing his job. The Sharks screwed up big time firing Sutter. All 5 straight seasons that Sutter was in SJ, the Sharks went to the playoffs. Now with Wilson they stand the chance of missing the playoffs for the first time in 6 or 7 years. I wasn't a Sutter fan the first two to two and half seasons he was in SJ, but he started turning around (his attitude and how he treated the players) and he won me over. Unless Ron Wilson starts doing a better job in SJ, I hope they fire him by the end of the season.

KCBS Radio in San Francisco is an All News station. Last night at 9:15pm Pacific they said "Owen Nolan is on the trade block." That was all they said. I listened to another of their sports reports last night and then listened to them this morning the whole time I was getting ready for work. Since that one bit last night, nothing more has been said about Nolan. If he really is on the trading block I'm 99.7% sure he will go to the Eastern Conference so the Sharks don't have to play against him. Who knows!! I'm beginning to wonder if SJ/SF is getting Toronto Media Syndrome (false rumours).
