Hi! I was on this board a couple of months ago under a different name...I'm from Portland, OR, land of the Winter Hawks (you're welcome for Zednik, Hossas, Balej!). We're coming up to Montreal for the M.C., and are looking at any insider info...not staying at the Frontenac but looking at the old part of the city. Other than that, things to do? great local sports bars? good food? how far away is that ice hotel i keep hearing about? Thanks for any info any of you can give!! GO HAWKS!

Yeah, I know, but the Remparts forum has been shut down, and I hoped some of you knew enough about Quebec City.... thanks for the welcome!

Hey there I live in Quebec City, but I might not know all the best bars and stuff, kinda depends on what you like. If you're from Portland, odds are what you'll like most here are the women. Those you watch and don't touch. If you want a clue about Quebec City stuff, send me a private message anytime. BTW: be prepared to speak French unless you stay in very touristy spots..... in Montreal you can get by on either language. Not in Quebec City. If the Mem Cup is in Quebec City I should try and grab a game or two, no way they'll fill up the Colisée for all the games..... Arrg. Mem Cup is during the holidays - I won't be here. Ah well.

PTH, I enjoyed your message! I'll be sure to not let my husband wander off!!! Our 12-yr old daughter is fluent, so she's already been warned that she'll be translating. I will email you another time when I have a bit more of it myself. Thanks again!
