This is the year that the Leafs are at their apex of hockey power. Their combination of grit, skill and determination make them the front runners for Lord Stanley's cup. I am not here to rub it in, Lord knows that I already know that we are the Center of the Universe. *joke* What I like to know from this learned fans is.... What you think the are our chances of us winning the cup?
If we don't win, which is unlikely, who can beat us?
How long do you guys think it will be before youare contenders?BTW, the rumors of my demise were greatly exaggerated. One of your moderators tied my n*ts to a bomb and dropped me on Saddam. That hurt. Fortunately, I wore my Leafs jersey and Saddam knew better then to tangle with a Leaf fan. www.clicksmilie.de/sammlung/travesmilies/flaggen1/smilie_flagge17.gif [/img] I am Canadian! ......burp....

What you think the are our chances of us winning the cup? Very slim. You guys are barely the 10th best team in the league. And now with all those injuries many can argue you are a 10-15 team. Devils, Flyers, Sens, Bolts, Isles and maybe even the Bruins...and that is only in the East. The Laffs can't even hold a candle to Detroit, Colorado, Dallas, the Nucks or the Blues
less time than it will take for you guys to win a cup Enjoy these playoffs LHeAfus Dufus cuz me thinks this could be your last ones for a while...

skill maybe, but i would say that old age and lack of discipline is a more fitting description than grit and determination.
now or ever? the answer to both is as marc stated above: VERY SLIM
pretty well anyone, but they won't need to, because as always you guys will beat yourselfs.
i don't know, how long do you guys think it will be before you are contenders?

I put ya about 3-4th on the list in the east and about 5-6th on the list in the west so lets say about 9th out of 16 overall. Your D is completely overrated and is gonna get exploited in a 7 game series. Obviously Quinn didn't think your D was good enough to begin with either so he went out and got not 1 but 2 d-men at the deadline. Now that Wesley went down wouldn't that logicaly put you back at not quite being good enough again hmmmmmmm....
Just about any team in either conference that have more points in the standings than you do right now and Minny as well.
Probably about 3-4 years to be honest to goodness Cup contenders and probably only 1-2 years away from being as good as the Leafs.

What you think the are our chances of us winning the cup? 1 in 16... considering you're 1 of the 16 teams that have the chance to win it, and by no means are you an above or below average team. As the Habs showed Boston last year, anyone at any time can be eliminated by a "lesser" opponent. But who has the best chance to eliminate you guys... well Philly is a good choice, especially with Amonte and Roenick on fire. I don't see you guys getting past the Devils or the new Senators any time soon either. 2-3 years before this team is as good as your leaf team is now, but i'm not quite sure they'll become a true contender for quite some time, that takes a lot of luck not just strong drafting and aquisitions.

Is this Leafus guy for real or is it HA? Are you 24andcounting or are you 25andmissingOne? As far as that HA guy. I don't know much about him but he gave me a nasty elbow to the head to clarify things. The question was, What you think the are our chances of us winning the cup? If we don't win, which is unlikely, who can beat us? How long do you guys think it will be before youare contenders? And I thought that I would get good debate over the subject with what I was told is an well hockey educated crowd. Was someone lying to me? So what is YOUR OPINION? Go Leafs Go

LHeAfus just won't stop :--) come on we all know you are Careful young one. Branding a proud 40 year HAB fan as a Leaf fan can cause you bodily harm. You can find yourself face to face with Traverse The Enforcer at your door. Worse yet, you may get Brisebois head in your bed as a warning.

*I am so scared.. * hey Leafus...how come the great Leafs couldn't even beat the caps and their backup goalie in regulation tonight? and coughed up a 3-1 lead late in the 3rd?

Leafus, you seem to be looking for some confirmation for your partial and unrealistic opinion which over rates your mediocre hockey team. You won't find that on this board which will only give you straight up, honest and educated assessments even if it hurts - as you're finding out. If your looking for some self indulging Leaf back slapping may I suggest you go to the CBC web site and enter a chat room hosted by Bob and Harry.

This is the year that the Leafs are at their apex of hockey power. Their combination of grit, skill and determination make them the front runners for Lord Stanley's cup. I agree. The Leafs have sold the farm for a shot at making it this year. They might - might - have a shot at making a run of it next year, but beyond that the future is very, very bleak. What you think the are our chances of us winning the cup? Lower than you think. There are lagre flaws with the team - including age, injuries, lack of disciplne and a defence corps that still needs work. If we don't win, which is unlikely, who can beat us? From the east? Jersey, Philly and Ottawa have more than enough talent to humble the Leafs. Neither is going to be scared off by Leaf "grit" either. Domi and Co. got away with a lot in the NYI and OTT series last year - partially because the refs let things go in the playoffs this year, and partially because the Isles and Sens didn't have enough to fight back. But when the Leafs played the Canes they lost because they couldn't outmatch their opponent in terms of grit. The east is tough looking this year. Ottawa's no longer the high talent, low grit playoff pushover they were (added Ray and Varada). Philly's always bee na tough, bully-ish team under Clarke. This year is no different than any other. Jersey has lots of grit as well. In the west - the Wings and the Aves can easily run over Toronto in the finals. Likely the 'Nucks too. How long do you guys think it will be before youare contenders? This is year two of the five year plan. Therefore three more years. Later

This is the year that the Leafs are at their apex of hockey power. 5th seed is a Maple Leaf franchise at the 'apex of hockey power'? Oh, how the mighty have fallen...
