Ok, we only have about 6.5 years to figure this out, so we'd better start now. If the NHL ends up participating in Vancouver 2010, it'll be a much different team than the gold medal winners at Salt Lake, as most of the old guard will be retired. I think it's time for some early predictions:
Heatley - Thornton - Iginla Nash - Lecavalier - Gagne Bertuzzi - Spezza - Comrie Tanguay - Marleau - Richards
Pronger Bouwmeester Jackman Morris Niedermayer Brewer
Giguere Theodore Luongo

Good lineup..
a couple of thoughts:
- We are lacking RW's. Gagne is a LW, Comrie a C and Richards a LW as well. We need some RW's to emerge after Iggy(who wont be that young by then)
- I expect them to take some talented grinders to fill out the 4th line. Look at last year's team: We had a Peca there and a Ryan Smyth. I don't think they would go all skill on the 4th line.
-I would add Jovo on the defence, as well as Redden and Brad Stuart. So many good d-man to choose from. Ditto for the goalies.

I totally forgot about Jovo, Stuart, and Redden. I agree on the grit factor. They will need some Peca type grinders, though I'm not sure who'll be ready to fill those roles 7 years from now. The goal situation is looking good for sure. It's entirely possible that Brodeur could still be a factor in the late stages of his career. It'll also be interesting to see how quickly Fleury develops.
