I've always liked Lapointe. You want your checking centre? He's da man. A 5th rounder, eh? Is it just me, or are players changing hands at Motel 6 rates?

I just don't get this deal. I can see the Flyers wanting to get Lapointe, but why did NYI deal him for a 5th rounder ? Unless he was a healthy scratch every game, I can't see why a team in a playoff run would deal away a useful, cheap, low-maintenance veteran, for a 5th rounder.

Lapointe for a 5th? Yikes.
Players are changing hands for some really low values. I do not think that Savard wil trade Breezy for a 3rd rounder.
What makes me feel that we are going to live wtih Brisbois for a long time?
You hear that Spiro? Breezy here forever............

LOL The only good trade the man ever made was Peca for Pyatt and Connolly...and that one could blow up in his face considering the age and talent of Pyatt and Connolly.

Lapointe is a UFA after this season. I think the Islanders picked up Randy Robitaille to replace him. Younger, faster, not as good, but cheaper.
