It's us against them. We're not them, they are. Boston's them too. Yes, Boston's included

Living in Belleville, I'm right on the edge of the "Toronto Region". What does that mean? When TSN showes "Toronto Region" games, I stuck watching Toronna play some jack team like Columbus while Kingston (In "Montreal Region") gets to watch a teriffic game of Montreal and Detriot. I'm tired of cable companies forcing the "Region" on my viewing habits (pun intended ). I think I'll get a dish this year and watch some good ole hockey on RDS!! Also, the only good thing about a Player Strike in 2004 / 05 is listening to all the Laff fans cry about how they were jipped cause their team was gonna go all the way! Like that would ever happen... maybe in Bazarro World!

How about Toronna to Pakistan for Bangladesh and five Mac's Milk managers. I apologize in advance. I know I will be criticized for being racially insensitive, and I apologize to the Pakistani's for lumping them in with Torontonians.

You know what truly boggles the mind is the number of Leaf fans out there that are absolutely crazed about this team and why?The haven't won anything in 36 years yet they map out a parade route evey October. Most of the kids parents who are brain washing these poor kids haven't even seen a Stanley Cup. Though in all fairness, the Blackhawks haven't won since the early 60's, so their drought is even longer. But I don't see their fans going all over the edge. I mean, why not? They have the uber-talented Jocelyn Thibault in nets, don't they?

I need a reason? They're the Leafs, therefore, I hate them. Plain and simple!

All we have to do is snag the Cup. Then they'll hate themselves!

I don't understand the question - they are the Leafs, why wouldn't you hate them?

There are so many reasons we all hate the leafs... but in case you are trying to think of one.... check out this post on sportsnet (which sucks compared to this, glad I moved over). Its a prime example of the mentality that Leafs fans have. I swear they couldnt tell you how many teams there are in the NHL, cause all they know is their own. Gotta hate that Toronto is the center of the universe crap. Anyway, for a good laugh...... forums.sportsnet.ca/thread.jsp?forum=11&thread=332&tstart=15&trange=15

oh my gawd: Heatly in Toronto Posted: Jul 10, 2003 6:48 AM Reply If there is one good young somewhat consistant player out there it has to be Dany Heatly. He is one of the most talented forwards out there. I want more then anything for him to come play for the leafs. I want to trade Sundin for him, but I dont think Atlanta could afford to take on Sundin. I would give any other player excpt Nolan, Belfour and Mogilny for Heatly. GO LEAFAS GO!

Tucker comes and Tucker goes. Domi comes and Domi goes. The players are transitory. It's the insufferable Maple fLeas fans that endure.

Blame me Pam... I have led them down the path of hate and evil. They were all “somewhat” normal (except BC and Spiro, they were NEVER normal) before they got here but alas, the with mind bending techniques, itch powder and sustained viewings of Brisebois, they have now been converted to evil doing, evil talking Hab fans. I’m bad. Can I get my spanking now? LOL!! ;D I'll forgive you this time. Simple....it's the sweater. A blue maple leaf!?....come on...that's just retarded!! CO Gee I guess that means you don't love me any more. I'll be nice and not say anything about the CH. ;D

Well Pam, you are probably right...but be honest now...These types of Laff fans are like Esquimos in Hawaii, they are a minority! ;D THF Maybe. Since I'm in California, I meet all my fellow Leafs fans on the Internet (although I have met some of them in person too). The only one's who survive on my Leafs Forum are the ones who feel just like me, and most of them live in and around Toronto. One of them even lives in Kingston. ;D BTW, you didn't spell Leafs right. It's spelled L E A F S not L A F F S ;D

Newer Leafs fan who haven't been raised by a Leaf fan, such as PAM, aren't infected though and may help generate a new era of Leafs fans... I wondered if you would get to me. Thanks Doc. ;D I am for sure different. A Leafs fan that likes the Habs unless they play the Leafs (or Sharks). ;D ;D ;D

1. Canada's Team - OMG what a boatload of sh*t! Canada's team, eh? I was in a local White Spot restaurant the other day when I noticed with some satisfaction that there were 5 plaques that depicted various hockey sweaters on the wall: one plaque for the Canucks, one for the original six, one for the 'next six', one for the all-stars, and one for the Canadiens. I looked around, but I couldn't see any plaque for "Canada's team" ;D

I live in Cambridge Ontario. It's 96km west of Toronto. Way to close for comfort! 10 Reasons why I despise the Toronto Maple Leaves....... 10- the holyer than thou attitude. 9- Joe Bowen......"Ho-ly Makina" what a save by Belfour,Joseph,Potvin,Fuhr....Get a new word Chops. 8- the word leaf plural is leaves not leafs but leaves. 7- Hockey Night in Canada. This show has become a joke. The only reason Canada is still in the title is due to late game they show. 6- Media....nough said. 5- Those damn car flags.....urgh...... I won't even by a Hab one 4- Tucker, Domi, and Sundins dumb nasty smile after they score 3- Their uniform 2- When I hear them being refered to as "The NHLs most storied franchise" I have heard that twice this summer. Elliot Freedman on The Score said it as well as The Fan 590. 1- Did I mention that leafs isn't a word.

Elliot Freedman on The Score said it as well as The Fan 590. I can believe that. More stories are written about the Leafs, I mean Leaves, than all other 29 NHL teams combined. Of course, not all the stories are very nice. And most contain some tale of woe. Heck, on a day when Vancouver wins the 2010 Winter Olympics, there were probably more stories in the "national' press about how this affects Toronto's bid for the 2352 Summer games, or the 3582 Special Olympics (featuring Mel Lastman's great great great 12 times removed children). Most storied franchise, da, most successful franchise, nyet. Pam, you really have to stick with the Sharks and pass on the Leaves. It makes it hard for we posters to bash the Leafs, yet be nice to you at the same time. Cognitive dissonance....with no cure in sight.

Habagogo, welcome to HabsRus. Well, the story is true and I was the one hired to write them all. I am currently brushing up on my Marquis De Sade tales and Dear Penthouse Readers letters. Once the proper hallucinogens have been acquired, the stories will be written. First titles will be: Tucker: A genetic mutation success story. Ballard vs. Stalin, who is better at torturing fans? Doctor StrangeLeaf, or How I Learned to Love Failure, I could go on……. but why?

Leafs or leaves? Depends on the dictionary you use. Older editions of the Oxford English Dictionary give leaves as the plural, but Merriam-Webster gives leafs as an alternative spelling. Do we go with the English or the Americans? Long ago I dropped the unnecessary vowels in humour, honour, ischaemia, etc. I also prefer analyze to analyse and defense to defence and center to centre. Why? Maybe it's because I want to be contrary to the constipated Brits in Toronto.

Do we really need to debate why they're using Leafs instead of Leaves?

Elliot Freedman on The Score said it as well as The Fan 590. . He looks to me to be in his mid thirties but he sounds like a pompous old man. Maybe he thinks the things he says have more credibility as his voice lowers.
