Chouinard 26, recorded seven points while setting career-highs in games played and penalty minutes with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim during the 2002-03 season. The 6-foot-5, 218-pound center also appeared in 15 playoff contests with Anaheim last year. He scored nine points (4-5=9) in 45 games with Anaheim during the 2001-02 campaign and won 55% of his face-offs for the season (319 of 581). Chouinard ranked second in the NHL in face-off winning percentage winning 252 of 414 face-offs taken (60.9%) in 2000-01. The Charlesbourg, Quebec-native appeared in his first NHL game on December 15, 2000 versus the New York Rangers and notched his first NHL point with an assist December 31, 2000 at Minnesota. Chouinard was originally drafted by Winnipeg in the second round (32nd overall) of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to Anaheim by Winnipeg with Teemu Selanne and Winnipeg's fourth round choice in the 1996 Entry Draft for Chad Kilger, Oleg Tverdovsky and Anaheim's third round choice in 1996 NHL Entry Draft on February 7, 1996.
