In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. Holden, 25, played the majority of last season with the American Hockey League's St. John's Maple Leafs, posting totals of 53 points on 24 goals and 29 assists in 65 games. He was recalled to Toronto on two occasions, appearing in five games and scored in his Maple Leaf debut November 8 at Dallas. The Calgary native has played a total of 54 NHL games for Vancouver, Carolina and Toronto and has recorded five goals and nine assists for 14 points in parts of five NHL seasons. Holden was acquired by the Maple Leafs from Vancouver in exchange for Jeff Farkas June 23, 2002. He was originally Vancouver's first choice, 12th overall, in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
