Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President and General Manager Brian Burke announced today that the Canucks have re-signed defenceman Nolan Baumgartner. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Baumgartner, 27, played in eight NHL games with the Canucks last season, recording his first NHL goal (February 20th at St. Louis), three points and four penalty minutes. Baumgartner also played in two playoff games last season with the Canucks. In 59 games with Vancouver’s AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, he recorded 39 points (8-31-39) and 82 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-2 and 205 pound defenceman has played in 34 career National Hockey League games recording five points (1-4-5) and 12 penalty minutes. The Calgary, AB native was originally signed by Vancouver as a free agent, July 9, 2002.
