Simon & a pick to Calgary for Mclennan , Betts & Moore. Interesting turn of events - this makes the 4th Canadian team to take players of the Ranger's hands. www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=75207

This is the player I really wanted the Habs to get to play against big teams like Toronto, Philadelphia, Tampa, Boston or Toronto. Simon has been great on a third line this year.

I wanted the Habs to get Simon as well, but I think that the Flames may have paid too much for him. Two prospects and their backup goalie is a bit much IMO, for a 3rd liner like Simon and a 7th.
One thing's for sure though, the Flames are going to be a heck of a tough team to play against in the playoffs. With Kiprusoff playing as well as he is, I can see the Flames causing an upset in the first round.

Jamie McLennan is an UFA and was going to be gone anyway. Simon is a good pick-up for sure - especially the word here in Calgary is that they're going to put him on a line with Iginla.

Didn't know that. I also checked and saw that the two prospects they gave up, are a pair of checkers anyway. Looks like another strong trade by Darryl Sutter.
