And Larionov signs with the Devils.
Great signing for the Canucks, a substantial upgrade from Trent Klatt. They gain a couple of years as well.
Larionov could contribute to the Devils, but I still see them as weak down the middle...and up front in general.

I am a little surprised that Arvedson signed with Vancouver. I expected him to go for the money i.e. a team in the U.S. or Toronto. Good signing by the 'Nucks at a fairly reasonable price. I wonder what kind of bonus...
Cheers,

Good signing by the Nucks indeed.
Not too sure what NJ are doing though. Not too sure Larionov can contribute all that much as 2nd line center.

He'll be there to help the Power Play and a little secondary scoring, that's pretty much it...

Another excellent play-off contributer for the Canucks. Throw him on a line with the Sedin brothers -- now that is a line that will go to war.

I'm hoping that was the 2nd line upgrade Brian Burke keeps talking about.
Sedin-Sedin-Arvedson
Makes a possible Hossa-Ribs-Zed 2nd line look colossal.

I don't see Arvy on their line since he plays LW. I wouldn't be surprised if Linden goes to RW and they look something like Bert-Morrison-Nazy Sedin-Sedin-Linden Then Arvedson, Chubarov, Cooke, Reid, May, Lindgren, Ruutu to build their 3rd and 4th lines.

I dunno. The signing makes no sense to me. The guy's SO soft, and, while he's a decent enough player, he's not the kind of guy you bring in if you're searching for Lord Stanley. For the sake of 'Nuck fans, I hope he's suiting up beside Cooke and May, possibly to teach him the values of playing aggressively.

Great signing by Vancouver, and a suprise to me at least. Once again Burke is demonstrating that he is among the best GM's in the league, maintaining a competitive, exciting team with a low (Canadian) budget and a relatively small arena. I was concerned about the loss of Baron and Klatt but it now looks like the Canucks could have a very solid team this season.

Another excellent play-off contributer for the Canucks. Throw him on a line with the Sedin brothers -- now that is a line that will go to war. I thought the Sedins did ok in last years playoffs. They're not bad at working the boards (they have to be because their speed isn't what you'd expect from Swedes). The Sedins are also smart, pass well and have gotten stronger. They'd be really dangerous if they just had another gear.
