heard the habs are interested in picking up Eric Daze anybody else got any info on how true this is? i think it would be a great pick up IF he can stay healthy he is still fairly young at 29, could be that big trade i heard was comin down for the habs could be packaged with Alexander Karpoutzev.

You're right, if Daze is healthy....what a pickup, IMO. Tough, nose for the net.

HE would be a great #2 winger for Ribiero. If it doesn't cost us any top end prospects I would gladly give picks and pucks for him! Plus we'd get rid of Dags on our top 2 lines.
I doubt his value is too high on the market. I hear the Avs might be interrested to.
Kovalev Koivu Zed Daze Ribs Ryder
I would really enjoy that!

but what would we have to give to the Hawks in return? they'd want either prospects, good, cheap and young players or high picks. or a combination of the three. maybe something like Bulis and a 4th?
btw, Daze is a RFA making $3.2M while Karpovtsev is a UFA. now that I think of it, I wouldn't want to give up a player like Bulis for an injury-plagued player like Daze. so, Dagenais and/or Kilger, Beauchemin and a 3rd.

I would not give Bullis either, I think Daze's value must be really low, he has a back injury that could be as unpredictable as a concussion. A pick and a plugger should be enough.

TSN'a profile on him:
Preseason projected role Daze will continue to be Chicago's most dangerous goal-scorer in 2003-04. He should see plenty of ice time on the top line. Assets Has great size and a fantastic shot from the slot area. Is hard to move from in front of the net and skates well for a big man. Can produce from either wing position. Flaws Doesn't dominate a game physically, though he has the size to do so. Is still trying to shake the inconsistency label. Career potential First-line winger.
The 63 games this season missed due to back surgery are worrisome, although he has been hot since his return on a very weak team. His stock may be low enough for BG to scoop him relatively cheap.
He also won the CHL most sportsman like player in 94-95...a gentle giant!!

Make that a big softie... Daze doesn't come to work every night either. Daze and Dagenais are siamese twins seperated at birth... I hope this one falls through.

I'd rather have Daze on Ribiero's wing instead of Dags. Daze might not show up every night but when he does show up he scores with consistancy!

I'd rather have Daze on Ribiero's wing instead of Dags. Daze might not show up every night but when he does show up he scores with consistancy! One can advocate that Dagenais is pretty consistent in scoring, his acutal stats suggest that he would score 26 on a full season... more than Ryder !! Still we all agree that we should upgrade on Dags.... Inconsistency in the effort is the most infuriating thing to watch.

The only Daze on want on the team is the daze-d look on people's faces when this team starts to roll.
We can do that without Eric. I'd only want Calder on the Blackhawks and I would presume that he is untouchable.

Calder has a broken leg...He's untouchable for sure right now!

My guess is that the Hawks would have lots of interest in Ron Hainsey. They need help everywhere, but they seem to have more of a need on defence, both now and in the future.
