Anybody catch the skills competition?? Eventhough alot of people don't like the All-Star weekend I always enjoy it, especially the skills competition. Good for Sourray, 102 mph, man that's inpressive, this will make every team in the league even more aware of his shot now.....Some of these guys really have alot of skill. Did anybody see that move Jagr pulled on Turco, that was insane, Jagr made Turco swirl almost all the way into his net...and he does it so effortlessly, really impressive. Luongo was awsome, eventhough his pads are FREAKIN' HUGE!!!! Compared to Theodore his pads look really big. I hated that new skill they put in called "In the zone" where you had 3 players passing the puck around and shooting, they shoudn't bring that back....OK I'm out!!!!

Niedermayer's wheels continue to impress.

Al Iafrate: 105 mph back in 1993.
With today's new technology, one piece composite material hockey sticks, this record was not broken...
Souray was using one of those sticks, Aucoin had a good old Sherwood... same result.

Last week, the Canucks beat NJ 4-0 and Morrison scored a very nice goal with a move around Niedermeyer and then a fine backhand shot against Brodeur. What no announcer brought up in the slightest (it was all oohing and aaahing about Morrison's move), was that Niedermeyer almost blocked the shot. This was despite Morrison breaking in at near top speed and fooling Scott into going in a wrong direction. Neidermeyer managed to reverse and nearly get his stick on the backhand. There were some very fine plays made on that goal, but Scott's near recovery seemed to go unappreciated. Super player.
