I can't believe it, they got him for nothing!!! www.tsn.ca/news_stories/32495.htmlHordichuk and a second round draft choice of course Florida would never have traded him to us ...Thats not fair

Wow. Think maybe AS missed the boat here. I'd have given up the pick we got from Philly plus a player or prospect to get Ference. Anything to say goodbye to Traverse and get some insurance against Souray being gone for next year too.

when I heard on CBC they got Hordichuk in retun I could not believe it
at least they got a 2nd rounder which should be around 45th overall..but still
I don't think AS missed the boat because we have 4 righties already and adding another one would make the situation very confusing but this deal is riduculous

You know Marc, Getting Ference would have permitted us to trade Rivet who got a greater trading value than Brisebois, By the way, i now think rivet is the one Detroit is really interested in...

even if ya deal only 1 or Rivet/Brisebois that leaves you with 4 righties if you get Ferrence...

I guess we just didn't have anyone as good as Hordichuk to offer.

Obviously not. But surely our top ranked 2nd rounder trumps their 2nd rounder? This must be where the 'games' played at the NHL level come into play. And I thought NHL GM's were reasonable, analytical people who only had their teams' welfare at heart. (Raucous laughter). Where's that Clarica guy to sort this out for me?
Man, would I have loved Ference. A tough guy with a little upside to be a solid defensive player. Would he have German blood in his family tree?

even if ya deal only 1 or Rivet/Brisebois that leaves you with 4 righties if you get Ferrence... Quintal said he felt pretty comfortable playing on the left side when Komisarek first came up and Brisebois came back from Paris...then again that was only 1, maybe 2 games so who knows?

yes but he also got injured that game...I don't know if his injury had anything to do with him playing the left side but he is obviously better on the right side..

Savard, wake the hell up.
We pass on Brad Ference? BRAD FERENCE?? Why? Is he too tough and nasty? Is he too big? Is he he not old enough?
Come on, this is BS on Savards part. The kid is 22 years old, 6' 3" and 215 pound of nasty, nasty pain.
I would give them our second rounder for Ference in a second.
Someone has to explain things to me because Savard is turning into a mystery. Unless Ference has a drug problem or needs the Zamboni to push him to center ice then we should off never passed him by. We got slammed around by the Kings last night like rag dolls meanwhile Savard is eyeing figure skating midget hamsters for the Hab's.

Relax, HA.... maybe Florida really wanted to send him out West, or maybe they just really wanted to get the guy they got from Phoenix. Remember that TO wanted Ference, and they would have had to pick up Val Bure and his salary as part of the deal.
