St. Louis Blues up for sale TSN.ca Staff ST. LOUIS - Citing significant projected financial losses, Bill and Nancy Laurie, the owners of the St. Louis Blues, have announced that the National Hockey League franchise and the Savvis Center have been put up for sale.
''The Lauries made the decision to sell the team and the Savvis Center because they can no longer justify remaining active in a business which has lost more than $60 million in the past two years and is certain to continue to lose millions annually in the years ahead,'' said Blues President Mark Sauer.
''Substantial future losses are projected even if you take into account what we believe will be a very successful resolution to NHL collective bargaining,'' Sauer continued. ''Those projected losses result from the current high sales and amusement taxes and the absence of city, county and state financial support of the debt service and operations of Savvis Center.'' the full storyAh, I'm looking forward to the new NHL, since all financial matters will be resolved with a new CBA.

I think I'll put in a bid. Have fun beating mine, 3 crayons and a small carton of milk. I'll then move the team to Winnipeg, rename them and then the NHL will be in another small market, but it would be a hockey market. With the supposed revenue sharing breaking even shouldn't be a problem ;D

Have fun beating mine, 3 crayons and a small carton of milk. 24 corduroy suits should give me the Blues. I've got an arena lined up in Sutton (Québec), near the Vermont border. The team will be called the Smugglers, and will make their entrance onto the ice at The Usual Place (home arena) in total darkness, with each player carrying a lit flashlight. As for revenue, we'll have nothing to declare.
