TAMPA, Fla. - Forget for a moment whether the puck was actually in.
The more intriguing question, particularly for those who remember Toe-gate in Buffalo with Brett Hull five years ago, is whether the NHL again got caught with its pants down.
Specifically, was there a thorough and complete review of an apparent third-period goal by Martin Gelinas in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup final Saturday night, a goal that would have snapped a 2-2 tie and might have allowed the "Sea of Red" in Calgary to celebrate in style that night?
It seems very, very doubtful that there was.
