Hey guys,
I just winding up two weeks of holidays and haven't really gone anywhere. Just spent time around the gym and puttering around the house. In fact, we just sold it today.
So, I go to the gym every day around the same time. It's probably the best facility in the city and has everything you could possibly imagine regarding equipment, features, et al. It's usually a little after 9 AM because the signals regiment is just completing their PT programs. And, by going in at the same time, it's usually the same crowd. Here's who I've run into at the gym in Kingston.
They're a good bunch of guys. I think they probably like that gym because it's not too busy that time of day and also there's no one hounding them. I only know one or two of them to say "gidday" in passing. But I've also noticed that some of them work out probably half the day and use core-strengthening techniques I've never seen before.
Also, last week was the second week of a two-week training camp for young prospects who are represented by Mike Gillis. These guys ranged in age and size; 14 to 18 years of age. I later found out from one of the trainers that one of the 14 year olds was Geoff Courtnall's son. You couldn't mistake him for anyone else. But, from what one of the staff tells me, they work these young guys for six hours straight a day. They do everything you can think of from core-strength training, interval training, weight training, et al. I even watched them put the boxing gloves on and go straight at each other all out when the instructor left them alone for a while. And they were throwing them.
I guess Mike Gillis is one of the few agents who does this sort of thing for his clients. And those clients are getting younger every year it seems.
Cheers.
