Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Michael Barnett announced Firday that the Coyotes have signed free agent right wing Brett Hull to a two-year contract. The unrestricted free agent and prolific goal scorer signed a two-year, $4.5-million US contract. He can also earn more in performance bonuses.. www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=93858&hubName=nhl

Hull is on the decline. Wasn't he significantly out of shape last season? Hopefully he won't be a bust for the Coyotes, who are in desperate need of some goal-scoring.

Being friends with Wayne'll help you out, I guess. 2.25 a season? Not bad for either side. Maybe the first incentive will be to show up at camp in shape!

You know something though, guys? I think Hull will help the Coyotes. He's a veteran, is good with the press (loves the press actually) and has made the playoffs 19 straight years (heard that on the radio).
And, like two years ago, I would have loved to see him in Montreal just for those reasons.
Cheers.

Bernier has shown nothing yet but his pudginess. Matt McHale in the 2004-05 Hockey News Yearbook doesn't even place Bernier among the top 10 Kings prospects.
