How does TSN get off thinking this tool is a credible analyst. I'm watching Sportcenter, and this dolt comes on, running his mouth about how there is no way Jay Bouwmeester should be on the World Cup roster. He's talking about how Bryan McCabe and his ugly blue mohawk should be on the roster instead. Why? Because he plays for the leafs? He went so far as to call Bouwmeester, the rest of the Panthers, and anybody who doesn't make the playoffs "losers." He's one to talk! Apparently the amount of International tournaments Bouwmeester has played in in the last 5 or 6 years doesn't count as pressure situations, or international experience, and the fact that McCabe played in the WJC'c about 10 years ago, and played for the laffs in the playoffs does...whatever! Then he goes on to say that because McCabe was in the top ten in the world in all star voting for defensemen this year, and Bouwmeester wasn't. LIKE ALL STAR VOTING HAS COUNTED FOR ANYTHING...EVER!!! All star voting is about as credible as Healey's opinions. I can think of at least ten defensemen on The five Canadian based teams (excluding Toronto of course) I would pick over McCabe any day of the week. Then he takes the time to mouth off about the lesser known olympic events. At least Keith Jones doesn't try to ram his thoughts down your throat.

Yes. He is.
He obviously caters to the leafs fans that watch TSN and tries to make them feel better about themselves. But it is more difficult to try and convince the rest of us, who actually see past his "objective" opinions.
He is probably paid a lot of money to convince the Leaf fans that they have a good team and that not having more players be part of the WC, is highway robbery.
They need someone to keep the fans on side...keep that money coming in...Healy has no credibility as far as I am concerned...he is doing what he is told, not stating the facts. McCabe is a liability on the blueline. A big risk that Gretz and Co (this includes Quinn), didn't want to take...

This is the second time McCabe has been passed over. When Blake went down he was replaced by Scott Hannan who has a very good playoff.
Is Healy completely blind or just illiterate? Even McCabe's own coach could not ignore his brutal performances against Philly in the playoffs in games five & six. When everything was on the line for the leafs McCabe just stunk.
Good news: I read a Toronto Star article ( an actual newspaper so I have no link) that stated Healy won't be back on CBC because he won't give up the other commentary jobs. This guy doesn't belong on national TV.

He is an idiot, I will give you that. But I agree that Bouwmeester should not have been selected. I still think that Adrian Aucoin deserves to be there. Name another defenseman who got 40 points (or did he get 39?) and +30?

Bouwmeester may, or may not be the best man for the job, but as far as international experience over the last 5-6 years, I can't think of anybody except possibly Luongo or Ryan Smyth who's worn the real Maple Leaf more. It's not like he's going to see much playing time, barring injury. I agree Aucoin should have at least got SOME mention, but he's as prone to inconsistency as anybody else (see his last years in Vancouver). But you definately can't overlook his shot. Wow I was more pi$$ed that Healey, more or less, called the kid a loser. If that's not the pot calling the kettle black, coming from a CAREER BACK-UP, then I don't know what is .
