Has anyone seen that game? I can't seem to figure out why Théodore was awarded the first star even if one goal was scored against him. (Luongo played the other half of the game and didn't allow anything).
Anyway, glad to hear that Lecavalier, when inserted in the lineup, does make a difference.

From what I have heard Luongo only had to make about 6 saves while Theo stood on his head in the 3rd stopping 15 or so shots.
I guess the one that did get by him was impossible to stop.
So 1st star was deserved.

Luongo stopped 8 of 8 shots.
Theo stopped 18 of 19 shots.
To date:
Brodeur has stopped 18 of 18 shots in 1.5 periods Theodore has stopped 18 of 19 shots in 1.5 periods Luongo has stopped 8 out ?? shots in 3 periods.
I can't find anywhere the shots on net from the first game. All I know is they scored twice in their first 4 shots and finished with 3 goals si that is at least 5 shots. Anyone know how many he had on him in the first exhibition?
Seems to me that Theo is making a strong case to be the back-up.

The lone goal that beat Theo was not stoppable IMO. It was a tipped shot that he had no chance on. Judging by the highlites, he seemed to have played a fairly solid game.
As of right now, Theo should be the no. 2 guy.

I watched the one hour condensed version of the game on..ahem...pardon me...Leafs T.V...I threw up a little in my mouth there.
Luongo looked like he's little rusty from the time off. Conklin looked like a sieve. Theo looked sharp. His eye hand coordination is very quick and his lateral movement is stellar. Square to the puck at all times. Timing excellent. He even had a nice haircut for the post game interview. Oh, and a new mask. Could this be the humble beginnings of another Vezina run? Or will his team hang him out to dry? Stay tuned for these and other exciting threads coming to you here at HabsRus.
That is all.

I don't buy the "last-year of contract" nonsense (or little sense). What if Jose just wanted to be the best golie out there? Oh non, there would be no conspiracy theory. And the Vachon cakes are iced on the two sides. My two cakes.

Come, come, is it unheard of players to play hard when a new contract is to be negotiated? I don't doubt that Théodore wants to be the best goalie. There is no conspiracy just bang-per-buck. Three sides, actually. All gone. More please.
