www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=88094Since there were a lot of talks about trading one of our goalkeeper, it's quite interesting to see what starting goalkeepers or backups can be worth on the actual market. Gerber for a youg d-man and a third, Kirpussof for a second, Salo for a decent defence prospect, Burke etc. I must say that I'm a bit surprised that even unproven goalies still fetch nice returns. I realise that this position is perhaps the most important on a hockey team, but I thought that the market would allow GMs to get goalies cheaper, with so many young and promising goalies.

Not to mention the fact that with the league being so defensive as it is, it seems like pretty much everyone has at least one good goalie. What's the general range of GAA for starters these days? 2.00 to 2.75? Back in the day it was 2.75 to 5.00... big difference.
