Would you sign Radek Bonk, if he's a UFA ? Assuming he's looking at reasonable number (3-3.5 mill or so), and he could be that 2nd line LW we need. While he's not young, he's not old either. Seems to me he'd be a pretty good plan B if Kovy wants to bolt... www.canoe.ca/Slam040624/nhl_ott-sun.html

The article says he is getting 3.5 million and is willing to take less. It's the how much less that would interest me. If we can sign Ribeiro for around $1 million, how much of an upgrade is Bonk over that number. Although I'm not a big fan of Ribeiro he would still represent better value than Bonk.... unless Bonk would accept an incentive laden contract for about $2 million

We can always sign Bonk and in two years Toronto will take him in the waiver draft. Bonk is still young, big and good. We have a habit of picking up formerly good guys after off years only to see them put together another two off years. Not thrilled, not terrible, not excited.
