Saw the old timers playing last night. And a pretty good show it was.
The lineup was depleted but here are some of the players I remember from last night. Note, the only Stanley Cup winners were from the Habs.
Also, they brought out a Tim Horton's "Tim Bit" team. They couldn't have been more than five or six years old. Napier lined up for a faceoff against one of the kids and just about slapped his stick into the stands ... halarious! Gaston Gingras broke out on a breakaway and left the puck behind only to shower the young goaltender (who could barely stand up) with snowy ice. The kids put two goals behind Edwards and you would've though they won the Stanley Cup. And, we in the crowd treated that way too.
A good time for sure. Dis Jr. sat beside a young girl his own age and she had access to the dressing room. However, when she offered to take him in, he backed out at the last minute. He cleaned up anyway, which is what it was all about.
Cheers.

- Steve Shutt - looks and skates the same. He actually let a few rippers go.
- Mark Napier - a clown on the ice now. But, like the others he's effortless when skating.
- Kirk Muller - he signed everything my son had. He's just a plain good guy.
- Gaston Gingras - wish I could have seen his shot just once. Still looks good.
- Gilbert Perreault - still has more moves than most players have forgotten. My son nicknamed him "Zippy."
- Dale Hawerchuck - see Perreault
- Jimmy Mann - after the police association scored the first goal, they posed for a picture with some of the stars at centre ice. Mann pied the goal-scorer just as the picture was taken.
- Jim Dorey - looked like he was taking his defensive assignments rather seriously.
- Don Edwards - just good to see him out there.
