I predicted this would happen sooner or later once Yann Danis was signed. I never pictured Garon as the #1 goaltender on the Canadiens despite the watery cascade of statistics that appeared regularly on HabsRus.

Bonk is a RFA....Qualified at 3.5 million? Am I missing something here or does this deal make no sense?

And we get it for Garon AND our third? When LA just got the guy with only a third?
I don't understand

I don't understand I think Ottawa didn't want to trade Bonk to a team in their division, or even conference so they flipped him to LA. Kind of like when Hackett was traded to San Jose for Sundstrom and then SJ traded Hackett to Boston. Boston did have to pay more than we got in my oppinion, but it makes sense to me.

Garon gone, we got Bonked!
Bonk is a good skating big center who is paid $3.5M. That's more than we were hoping to get Kovalev for (UFA vs RFA).
Am I missing something?
Shremp was on the board and we took Chipchura? We have lots of third line players but precious little offensivaly gifted talent.I like Chips size and speed, but he doesn't fill the net or dazzle like Shremp. Still, In Gainey we trust. I'm sure he knows more than we do..............., probably.................., I hope.
So far I rank this draft very ordinary.

Schremp is a head-case. An even bigger one than Hainsey. Would you take a chance on that? One is enough at a time. When Hainsey either joins the big club for good or is gone, then we can take a chance on another head-case.
